Airizer extreme q?

I got one, used it a lot back when I first got it, but that was like 2 yrs ago... as far as desktop vapes go, its awesome... I just prefer that smack in the throat from coughing, and hated the whip... like hitting a hookah, sucking ait thru that lil tube... meh... bong rips on the Ti nail for me....

(should note, i broke the glass elbow on mine a while back and havent replaced it, or i might break it out once in a while /shrug)

I have had one for a year now. It's a daily-user - and in fact I'm sucking down a bag right now.

I'm not a "review" type of guy but me and my buddy both have had one for over a year and couldn't be happier.

Read the following because it's got a lot of good info about it and will save you all of the time I spent tinkering with it.

Goods:

Great price - I got mine for $130 from Vapornation.com by naming my price.
Lasts a long time - I use it for about 3-5 sessions a day and it's over a year old.
Remote control - it sounds dumb, but you have no idea how convenient it is until you can't find it
Really really gets you high.
Still has a lot of the same "smoke" effects (blowing out visible smoke) without feeling it in your lungs the next day.
Lots of spare parts - also part of the bad.

Bads:

Bags it comes with are small
The elbow is a little awkward to change bags on after each filling and breaks easily
The whip is a little too firm and causes the bowl to tip - I don't enjoy it but my friend swears he loves it.
The screen inside the elbow get's gunked up after a few sessions.
Tons of parts everywhere are easily lost and hard to figure out what to do with sometimes.

If I could start all over again, here's what I would do/want to know:

1. Immediately order the all-glass elbow from their website. The glass-on-glass connection and all-glass elbow are 10x easier to deal with between bags.
2. Go to the grocery store and buy a few boxes of the giant turkey-sized cooking bags. Use these instead of the ones they send you. They last longer, cost next to nothing (~$2.29 for a set of 2) and allows you to relax with a bag for a bit while the other bag fills up.
3. Get a grinder - I never had one before and it's a game-changer in general but a must-have for a vaporizer.
4. Set the temp to 205 to start with - that should last 3 of those huge bags and give you a decently dark vapor. If it's getting a little weak, I'll bump it to 206 for the third bag. After that it's bonus territory where you can stir it up, get 2 more giant bags at 209, stir it again, then 1-2 more bags at 212 depending on how full you filled the bowl. I usually fill 2/3 of it but even at 1/3 the results are phenomenal and last longer than you'd expect.
5. Fan speed 2 and Fan speed 1 produce the same vapor. I swore that I got darker vapor on setting 1 for the first 6 months and never even tried setting 2. My friend and I did a side-by-side comparison and taste-test and confirmed speed 2 and 1 produce the same vapor but speed 2 is just way faster. Your call.
6. A full session lasts around 25-45 min depending on how many bags you use, etc. so it's not the best device if you're in a time-crunch but it is the best device for a movie or big hang-out session.
7. Keep the air flowing = this means 2 bags at a time. The weed can only be vaped for so long. Stopping between bags seems to decrease how long the session will last. I'm getting 6 gigantic bags off of the same amount of weed I used to get MAYBE 6 factory bags off of when I first got it. The trick is to follow my pattern above in number 4. If you stop the airflow between bags it's like lighting a bowl and then letting it burn itself out while you're coughing your lungs out. I smoke at the fan-speed 2 pace and if I'm getting too high and slowing down I drop it to speed 1 to catch up. It works like a charm.
8. How water cleans most of it, glass cleaner works way better - especially on the elbow screens.
9. BUY AS MANY OF THE ROUND-BUBBLE ELBOW SCREENS AS YOU CAN. You will lose them easily. They will get gunked up easily. They're annoying to clean. I went and about a pack of 25 on ebay and didn't have to clean any for a year. Best purchase ever.
10. Don't travel with it. As someone that likes to watch people get really fucked up on the vaporizer (and yes, it WRECKS people) I am always wanting to throw my setup in a backback and bring it to parties and stuff. I almost always forget at least 1 essential piece and the opportunity is wasted. There's nothing like telling everyone at a party how cool your vape is and that they should try it only to realize you forgot the cord at home. It happened to me THREE times, including twice in one night! I've had some pieces broken and lost and everything generally mishandled when I take it places so just keep this at home with you.

I wish someone had told me all of these things when I bought it! It's a great piece, get's you high, get's your friends high who say "oh, weed doesn't get me high" because there's no faking smoking it with the bags, it get's your friends high who say "vaping doesn't get you high" and it get's me high every damn day!

If you have IG, check out @vapecanaveral and I think there's a video or two of the bag filling up and stuff.

Enjoy!

Arizer EQ 4 is great, had mine for a couple of years. I recommend getting a "DDave mod" kit from eBay, makes the experience a lot better and you'll get vapor easier. You also get a soft silicone "whip" in the kit, which is a lot better than the standard PVC one.

(as for screens gunking up, yea, that happens fast, 91% isopropyl alcohol and they are good to go) [or 190proof everclear if ur state sells it]

I find the 70% rubbing alcohol that you can get for cheap at the grocery store works just as well as the more expensive 90% stuff. I keep a small, fairly shallow, Tupperware container with some in it and soak all the glass and metal parts in it, and there's no need to dump it afterwards. Just give the pieces a quick wash and rinse with dish detergent and they're good as new.

The new Extreme Q comes with the glass on glass bag adaptors, at least mine did. Sadly, the guys at the store didn't know that, so I bought one when I got mine and now I have two. Oh well, I'm sure I'll appreciate it if/when I need it.

Any idea how it would compare to this mod?

I'd say the DDave is a lot better, as it changes the bottom part, it's completely open where as the standard "bowl" has a strange glass rim and only a small hole. The kit also comes with a completely straight glass wand and doesn't have any turns anywhere.

Glad to hear you're liking the mod. Which kit did you get most recently?
Just the basic 18mm, to replace the ones I broke. Your new site wasn't easy to find, it's almost like google doesn't want to show it.

Cool, like the adapters in your kit, I've upgraded all F/F adapters. Now thicker glass for improved heat retention and a bit tougher to break.

I'm working on Google. Haven't figured out how to bump it up in search results, but it will happen eventually.

I tried to correct a posting that pointed people to my ebay site, but the new site address was removed and I was warned for advertising. My old ebay profile has the new site address in it.

@Psyphish , drop me a quick note from my website when you have a moment.
