Air pump opinions...

Okay i have now decided im switching from the small 7.8L air pumps per bucket and cylinder air stones, with a higher grade pump and air diffuser rings. i might have at MOST 6 buckets. but really plan on having 4. so what gph would you guys think? also, can you adjust those air pumps? i would assume it would be better to get a stronger air pump and turn it down if i had to.

I like my Active Aqua 70lpm commercial pump. Lots of power, and would easily run 6 stones! Fairly cheap too. But there are higher end pumps out there for much more money.

is this the one you are talking about? because its one of the ones ive been looking at, my only concern is, what if i only want to run 4 stones? will it be too much? and what do i do with the lines im not using?

Mine are actually pretty quiet. Especially once the stones are connected.
Mine too! I have mine hanging from the ceiling, with 550 cord, to help isolate any vibrations. The sound washes away among the fans, water pump, and waterfall.

The tent exhaust keeps the pump cool to the touch. These pumps get pretty hot, so removing standing heat helps.

My alita is the shit. Quiet and powerful

Although it requires a seperate fan to cool
But so worth it
For how quiet it is

And i gladly put a fan just for my little baby

Linear air pumps like Air Force and Haliea are the best option. Replacement diaphragms, and unbelievably quiet.
