Air cooled light chamber

So I am wanting to experiment with the micro grow so I am goin to turn an old dresser into a micro cab. My question is can I put a piece of glass in the top portion of the cab to seperated the lights from the plant, and vent that space like a cooltube, goin to use cfls but it's a small space. Will post measurements when I get home and measure the thing, but wanted to know if this will be effective or not?

^ yes, you could, the glass could block up to 10% of light wave transmission. Sometimes its a big deal, usually not terrible.

If you are using CFL's though, it might not need to be done. Simple venting may be fine. Plants will tolerate CFL's very close, maybe even as much as 2 inches of distance. So the heat is fairly localized with cfl's and good venting.

:peace:

Ok well the box is only 1'6"x1'6"x2'6" I know it's very small but like I said just experimenting with the micro grow. Wanna learn different training techniques and how to properly supercrop. I already have a bigger cab for the girls so if I can't keep it small enough I have a place to put it. Just bored and wanting to mess around with some diy

And also I was gonna line the inside with the bubble wrap looking stuff with Mylar on one side and white on the other, got it for free so might as well make use of it, and figured that would trap the heat and maybe the air cooled light chamber will help combat that problem in such a small grow area. I plan on using cfls a couple of the big 42w bulbs and also some smaller ones for extra side and underneath lighting. Idk gonna start messing with it today if anyone has any suggestions that would help I would appreciate it
