Agromax Pure UV bulb

Just doing a test on these pure uv bulbs. Hopefully, I learn something from it. There has been some debate about how to use these bulbs effectively. Some say run them on the same schedule as your main lights. Others say run them only 15 mins, four times a day.

In this test we will see what running the pure uv bulbs with your main lights does to this girl scout cookie clone. I wasn't able to get the lights 36 inches above the plant. It is only 32 inches.

I am running a 4' four bulb t5 lamp. I have 3 regular t5 lights that came with the lamp and one pure uv bulb. Let's see what happens.

Thanks, looks like I am going to need it. After 7 hours, the fan leaves are very waxy and shriveling. I say it should be fried by morning. Oh well, you live and you learn. Hopefully this saves somebody some trouble down the road. DO NOT RUN THE PURE UV BULBS ON THE SAME SCHEDULE AS YOUR MAIN LIGHT/S

Sorry you did not catch my post on this bulb as I had done as you but I seriously burned a few plants by running the bulb on my regular light schedule. Lost a Sativa from it but the Indica made it :)

Can you put a link up bro? I did this test to prove a point. I learned a little while back that these bulbs need to be run on their own schedule. It looks like 15 minutes, four times a day, is the way to go.

Try it the last two weeks of flower. 15 minutes at a time per hour, for four hours. I got a noticeable increase in potency, using it for the last 8 days of flower, 30 mins lights on and the last 30 minutes before lights go off.
Unfortunately my flower tent does not accommodate the size of the T5 fixture and the tent that is ion is my veg tent. My flower tent has a 315w CMH and will soon have a 600w MH setup in it........

@whitebb2727 Maybe some strains are more susceptible to these bulbs but I have had 4 dfferent strains bite the dust just like this girl scout cookie clone is about to.

You're not understanding what I'm saying. It won't work for clones unless you do a little at a time and harden them like for the sun.

Pop some seeds and see what happens. They have to be exposed from germ.

I definitely think that is is very strain dependent. Ive had a few UVB bulbs. the Agro max was the latest. Twice it really fired up indicas even with good spacing ~28". Other times it looked as if the plant was barely affected. I did exposure on several different intervals. Some of the indicas seemed to suffer with even 2hr daily exposure. Sativas fared far better. I also noticed that plants in much larger pots managed far better under intense irradiance in general.

I ended up switching out the agromax and dropping in the Hortilux Uvb. The plants love it. It's not as much UVB exposure but they respond to the spectrum and it gives some uvb. In a few weeks, closer to harvest I plan on getting the Agromax back in there.
