A tad bit to much chlorafill for me. You might try cutting back on the dyna grow grow to bloom ratio near the end a bit LOL.. But if you bring your Ak I will put 500 on Tree Kings Chemdog.
Too much chlorophyll? What in the hell do think produces flowers, AN rocket fuels? Come on people, learn some botany.

I likes chlorofill!

Folks, just stumbled on this via a Google on Dyna-Gro. I don't know if there's more bullshit to wade thru in this one or in a defoliation thread.

Have fun,
UB

Dyna (no matter the NPK) leaves a smell I do not like in the buds... it took about a year to pinpoint what was causing the smell.. I'm pretty sure Dyna is it.. I just have one more grow to do with a different brand of coco before I can be sure.
A salt is a salt no matter if it's synthetic or organic. I'd suspect the coco if I was you or ask others if they're picking up on the same odors you are. To me, smell and taste is more of a genetic thing. Perhaps you need to prep your coco too. Here's an excellent ditty on doing that with chunks, but I would still treat fiber the same if I was using coco.

I've just got into the Diesels recently.. great shit.

It is a shame you didn't find the NYCD leaning plant when you grew out Killing Fields. I found it in a single pack... Wreaks like grapefruit, crazy potent, beautiful, high yields. I've always heard that NYCD and ECD don't hold up to O Diesel, but I don't know.. this plant holds up to any Diesel I have seen. Seasoned smokers are pleased with 2 hits.
With my current mother stock, I've been through almost 200 seeds... stocked and tested at least 80 plants.. If I could keep only one it would be this one. Finishes in just under 70 days. POTENT. Sativa and Indica affects, everyone is pleased with this one.

nycd is not nearly as potent as ecsd. it sounds like your not familiar enough with these strains to speak on them. im stickin to what i said the killing fields sucks in my opinion.

My previous nutrients were also synthetic. I am not making an organic vs synthetic claim.
I hope you are right and this smell is coming from the coco. I'm trying out my old brand in the coming weeks.
I'll have to read more of that coco piece tmrw.

Old (smells good) : House and Garden Coco AB nutrients and Canna Coco Coir
New (does not smell good) : Dyna Grow nutrients and House and Garden Coco Coir

And then there is always the possibility it was something else.. my own doing, a product, etc...

this is my point, what zombie mode is to you is regular shit where im from dudes like the most potent shit thats around where as in europe there mixin weed with tobacco cause they dont wanna get as high. and this has nothin to do with indica and sativa just so you know because my people go crazy when theres some bomb haze or sour diesel around

    • i just stopped using dyna gro permanently at day 17 in flower after i saw how slow the plants were growing and i was even doing a 50/50 mix of grow and bloom. ive been running my blubonic at 3-400 ppm (ec x 500) and even though the plants are healthy the growth rates arent there. last crop i ran sensi 2 part with big bud and my plants were 3 ft after 21 days. using dyna grow none of my plants are even 2 ft tall and theres only 4 days of growth left so i know there not gonna reach anywhere near 3 ft. usually when i use the 2 part i notice big jumps in growth daily in early flower like 2-3 inches and then im all exited but with the dg i never noticed this happening so i was worried the whole time. and its not about dialing them in cause everything is healthy. homebrewer i dont know about connoisseur but all i can say is the 2 part with big bud is the shit and im never doubting it again no matter what anyone says. no one can say i never tried out the dg and i had high rhopes of using it permanently but i cant use it anymore.

ive noticed other people talk about you shouldnt use dg during the first few weeks of flower for certain reasons but you should switch to it later so i dont know maybe its better to use it after the stretch. there is no doubt in my mind what so ever the 2 part/big bud grows my plants much faster than dyna gro. i just wanted to start this thread to let people know i tried both and this is what i think.

also if anyone has tried both please post your results. after what i saw im confident alot of people will see the same results i did

sir, im using dg...seems ok..im first time grower tho,,,can you tell what that 2 part stuff your talking about?? way better then dg? whats the name of that stuff so I can get for my next grow...where you in soil?? im on day 25 with dyna pro foliage....got bloom for flower....if I was using another product,,,say the one your talking about,,,my girls would be bigger?

Ok, all I'm saying is post some pictures of your grows. While we're waiting for those photos, here are some pictures of my AK47 around day 60 with the only difference being the plant food (same environment, same feeding levels, same lighting, you get the idea) :

To be totally honest, DG is hard to beat in many respects. It's stupid easy to use, at a minimum it performs as well as anything on the market, and it's very inexpensive. All those plant foods that you see at the hydro store are slightly tweaked mixtures of the same ingredients. The only difference between them all is the NPK content and the price. Two different brands with the same mineral content are going to perform about the same, understand? So given the fact that you're a first time grower, I'd recommend dialing in the basics like environment, watering technique, and find a conservative feeding schedule that works.

Oh, if I were you, I'd use foliage pro from start to finish:

I'm sure but that doesn't mean you shouldn't experiment.
hey homebrewer,

decided on giving dyna gro a shot this grow in hempy buckets under a 600hps. got the foliage pro. after reading most of the ak-47 post, i got the impression that you were looking at using FP and bloom together to get the 1-3-2 ratio? the FP is a 3-1-2 ratio which is better for veg phase? or are you using FP for veg and bloom?

thanks for the help and really enjoyed reading both your GH and AN comparisons.
