m8 i no ppl who have had the same problem,it stinks when it on the plant,an the minit u chop it dwn the smell of ur plant just seems to go,it could be a number of things, the other users r rite in what there saying'u do need to cure ur buds when there dry but that don't mean there gonna start 2 stink again, may be they might taste a bit better but theres no way there gonna stink like the smell u got when it was growing.
u could buy 20 female seeds an out of those 20 u may only get 5 or 6 decent plants the rest could just be growing but not doing 2 well, thats why ppl clone only the best of the best plants cause there the ones giving out the best of the best buds(GRADE-A quality) so just cause u got a plant that has flowerd well don't mean it gonna give u GRADE-A BUD,u will get the hang of it mate,it could be u not give the plant enough light or even under fed it with nutes, every thing has to be perfect ur room temp of a night every thin comes into play,an i hope u got a p.h meter cause it could just be some thin as simple as the p.h being to low or to high thats what it was with me mates crop he had no p.h meter,an he was just over nuteing(feeding)cause his buds were dark green instead of light green, good luck next time m8.THE SMELL IS THE TASTE i no were ur coming from.

its like fruit, let it sit and ripen, the smell will stay there when its dried slowly and then you cure for taste, a little moisture in the middle of the buds at the start of the cure helps

I spent days and weeks doing research. Not 1 mention of weed smelling like hay. Just harvested my first plant 3 days ago. Within an hr or two of chopping, hay smell, I'm drying in two different places, and it's drying slow,, the main buds are in my flower box, and the others are in my closet. both seem to be about half way through drying. My buds look like a million bucks, if you can get over the smell. From what I have read so far, some of the smell will come back in cure. I sure hope so. Sitting 5 ft from my closet, I smell hay, like I should be smelling that good smell we all know and like. Instead I want to cry my fucking eyes out because I have to smoke a bale of hay for the next 3 mo. and then not sure if the clones I took off this will turn out with the same problem. That would be 2 bales of hay in the next six mo.,,,lol Here is a link to my grow. 1 plant had total wet weight of 17 oz.

whats the max you could leave a jar before burping
as around about the time i'll be curing i'll be traveling back and forth every day (like 2 hours train journey and away for the whole day)
Just a little worried my buds will get too sweaty while i'm away
From what i've read i SHOULD be okay burping twice a day, once in the morning and once at night,
any advances? (i've no issue waking up at midnight to burp my jars if its what i need to do :P )

It all depends on how long you dried it before jarring. And how big and dense they are.
Nutes in buds will never go away not matter how long you cure it. Left over nutes should have been flushed before harvesting. Improper flushing or lots of left over nutes can cause harsh taste, head ache, sinus problems. improper burning.

I dry my buds in a cardboard boxes with wire's strung through to hang them on. I then open and close the box 2 x a day ( I live in Colorado so just hang drying dries out the bud way too fast. ) Takes 4 or 5 days.

I then fill my jars with different size buds as the smaller ones are drier then bigger ones.

I leave closed for 24 hours and then dump it back out onto plates to dry for a couple of hours, then re jar...do this a couple more times. ( depends on how they feel )

And then I start burping.

Curing my crop properly ( before I will even smoke it ) can take up to a month. I'm anal.

But they cure oh so good !

I actually have some buds that are over a year old and are like smoking aged wine...the flavor is amazing !

Of course I have the opposite problem...my buds reek from start to finish. Harvesting is major headache as the whole building smells...so badly my landlord installed an air freshener outside my apartment door.

Immature buds always lose their smell. No amount of curing will work. I see a lot of peeps curing jars and 85% of the time the buds havent been left for long enough and 3 months down the line they smell just the same.

Step 1: Read and learn to grow.

Step 2: Grow

I cannot help you if you wont help yourself. You have obviously put very little effort into learning how to grow before jumping in. I had hundreds of hours in reading before I ever popped a seed. I didnt put all that effort in so you didnt have to. Read up bro. Its all here for the taking.
