gas is actually $3 now in hawaii, way down from where it was when i was there.

It's always more expensive when you have to import it

The past few days it has been under 2.00 here.

Thanks to Tom Thumb rewards, I ended up paying 1.69 a gallon on Saturday. Best deal I receieved using the rewards, was when I had a full dollar off a gallon. Gas was at 2.40 or so at that time.
