i've been looking at the cannabis cage recently, and its piqued my interest quite a bit. the only thing that bothers me about it is the water pump. can anyone answer why a 1/4hp electric pump is necessary? in an aeroponic system i cant see why 1200gph is needed. those things run on a couple hundred watts, and from what i understand, the cage is about making the most of space AND lights/power.
think about the little portable pumps that run off cigarette lighters that are used to inflate car tires. they use tiny little pistons that produce tons of pressure, but very little volume. why dont we use something like that??? a properly designed valve could probably save a bunch of power, no? the water pump used in the cage uses about as much power as another 250w light.
