So I had some issues with the 1/4" tubing that was comming from the spray manifold, through the top of the 6" PVC. It wasn't sitting strait no matter how much i messed with it... not to mention I dont think the threads on the sprayers caught well enough to hold tightly. So... I got these strait 1/4" tubing pieces and 1/4" tube connectors. I cut 3" pieces of the 1/4" strait tubing and attached a connector to the top that is exposed. I then connected the existing 1/4" tubing from before to the connector on the strait piece. I also picked up a different model of sprayer because it had more threads then the ones i was using previously. It seems to hold much better. Here is a few pics...

So here is an update...

I decided to try to use a submersible pump that was a little less powerful than the external 1/4 HP pump that I originally intended to use. After running tests with that, it was clear that I needed more power so I busted the 1/4 HP pump outta the box and got to work! I had a hell of a time locating adapter to connect my pump properly without losing water pressure... in the end it was the aquarium supply store that saved me... I ended up using these adapters to connect 1" soft tubing from the res to the pump and from the pump to the pvc spray manifold. I also switched out the sprayers on either end of the setup and put 180 degree sprayers rather than having the 360s there.

I'm concidering hooking up a nutrient fog intake to one of the 6" tubes and using it as a comparison. Maybe the fog is the extra difference I've been looking for :)

Friday night I'll get a chance to let the system run all night long and make sure there is no leaks. Next I need to hook up my lighting and exhaust fan...

I've started shopping around for clones... its hard to find a batch of 20 clones of the same kind at a bud shop, but I did happen to meet and exchane info with a guy that claims he supplies clones to the local shops... plus he said he'd hook me up half the price they charge in clubs... too good to be true? we'll see...

I've also ordered some seeds off the internet and am concidering setting up a mother plant... I dont know how long it would take from seed (feminized) to get to a plant large enough to produce over 20 clones... Or lets say i go pick up a clone from a local shop... how long would it take me to grow a 6" clone into a mother plant that i can hack over 20 clones off of?

Any info on the mother plant stuff would be appriciated because those are uncharted waters for me... also i havent clone'd anything myself yet, but i have watched the process kind of...

Hook it up with the info guys!! I'm pumped up and ready to get this shit goin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I made a little homemade drip bucket and picked up a clone of OG Kush today, which I'm growing to keep as a mother plant.

I've been puting some finishing touches on the aero/nft setup and its just about ready to go. I've yet to decide on the strain I plan to grow... I may wait and make my own clones. So if thats the case it could be a month before I get started...

Also... I purchased some seeds from the Nirvana seed company you see the adds for all over rollitup.com . They did make it through the mail just fine as promised. I got 5 feminized seeds each of 4 diff strains : AK 48, Aurora Indica, Cheese, and Blue something... I forgot the last name... oh well. Ya so I may make mothers out of some of these seeds if things go well. However.. I have been hearing some bad things about feminized seeds so there is a chance I made not use them... blah... so much to do...

Lots has changed on the NFT! Haha... Had to scrap and rebuild my manifold... Old one sprung leaks due to high pressure and shifty connectors. This time I'm using the push fittings they use for RO systems and I'm having much better results. I also changed my external pump for a submersible and picked up a water chiller. I'll post more details and pics soon. I'm starting to clone my own stuff for the first time... My 2 mother plants (Black Domina Kush & Chemdawg OG) are slightly over 2 feet tall and each look like they could produce at least 15 good clippings... However I need 20 of the same kind so I'm either gonna wait on the moms or go hit up the shop and pay 15 a pop...

I'll keep ya posted

Here is some pics of the new and inproved Aero/NFT... as well as some pics of a few side projects :)...

there is 1 shot of my drip tent. I set it up because i felt naked without a grow going... I picked up half OG kush clones and the other half are 91' Chemdawg. Both are 9-10 week flowering & are hybrids. There are quite a few of them that took some time to adjust to the nutrients/setup it seemed... i had a lot of curling leaves on the first few sprouts, but now 90% of them are sprouting healthy leaves. I have noticed however in the time that they were producing shitty leaves, they did still get a lot taller. So i have some lanky ass plants with a few health leaves on top and some wrinkly little shits on the bottem... I dont know drip as well as i know Aero... hopefully this project pulls through and i'll still get something out of it, however i am much more concentrated on getting my aero/nft running.

there is a few shots of my few mother plants in progress...

i also included a shot of the aero cloner i'm making. I've seen a few pics of factory made aero cloners and of some home made ones as well... i'm pretty sure i get the concept, but like i said before i'm still new to cloning so we'll see how that goes haha...

Any tips on the drip tent/leaf issue would be appriciated as well as any tips on the aero/cloner.

sadly I put this project on hold... had a lot of water temp issues due to the submersible pump getting too hot and my water chiller not doing its job... not to mention its summer and its fucking hot.
