Advice needed: too hot for drying

Hey guys, I need some advice. This morning I cut down my Ogre auto. It was time to harvest, I trimmed her up really nicely, and when I took her inside to hang dry her in my grow tent, I noticed my house was extremely hot. It was 92 degrees in here. It turns out, my air conditioner had gone out while I was outside trimming. And it's going to be at least a couple days, before I can get it fixed. I know that is way too hot for drying my bud, so I don't really know what to do. I put it in a cardboard box on some wire racks, and took it out into a shaded barn. But it's still really hot out there. In fact, I ruined an earlier harvest this summer by trying to dry it in that barn. Within one day it had dried to a crisp. I was determined to do this one right. FML. Is there anything you guys can think of that I can do to keep this bus from drying too fast?

Do you have a basement? Heat rises so it should be a little cooler down there

No basement unfortunately

Well, options are limited. You can fast dry it. I suggest lots of airflow, or the temp and moisture could lead to mold. If you can get a small portable a/c and use a timer that would be cool. (No pun intended)

Put it in big 20 gallon totes with the lid off and on to slow it down. Flip 2-3 times a day to keep things evenly drying.

Scratch that I just looked at your picture. Where you are now I would cut the buds off the plant and put them into a ziplock. Leave it shut a few hours before checking it, then just play it by ear from there. Open a few shut a few. I have to do it all the time. I don't want anything dry quicker than 5 days before it finally goes into a jar

why does heat matter?
The warmer the air in your dry room, the faster your buds will dry which will lead to a harsher grass or straw flavor in your buds. If you're trying to optimize the taste of your buds, you should shoot for drying room temps in the low 60's and a drying time of a week or more, followed by a proper cure.

Thanks for the ideas guys. I got my AC working again yesterday, but I think it was too late for my bud. I had to end up jarring it yesterday at 2.5 days because it was already dry. It's probably going to be really harsh and unsmokable. I have some really bad luck sometimes.
