The point is 1000s will be more productive in any space. Iff you have 30" head room for your 600's you can run 1000s. I keep my 1000w de at 24" and don't bleach my plants, and its not because of the reflector. What environmental controls do you have that can't use 1000s???? You don't have 2 extra amps for a 1000w??? 1000w runs less than 5 amps at 240v. Don't need to see your room to figure that out.
That's simply not true. 1000s produce more heat than 600s so if that heat can't be managed then that's just asking for problems that will affect both yield and quality.

1000s draw more electricity. If a room was designed to run with 600s then swapping them out for 1000s is a fire hazard.

1000s also need more head room than 600s. Again, I can bleach plants with a 600 that is 30" above the canopy and there is no more headroom in my space.

I also prefer the idea of spreading out the watts with 600s versus 1000s. Example: Five 600s will out-yield three 1000s in a horizontal grow given space constraints.

You may or may not understand the fact that grow rooms need to be designed based on the limiting factors of the things I addressed above.

How the heck do I take my alerts off. I'm tired of seeing people argue over lights and dumb stuff. Just grow. Who cares. How do I get rid of alerts? That is something I would love to read about or I can stop posting where "well known members" already have. They seem to clash a lot.

This thread sucks now without @pk_boosted2 posting in it. I'm outta here also! :-D

I guess I have to repeat my self.

Heat can be managed easily. Air cooled lights & AC are just a couple that work very well. Why would you not be able to manage heat?

Fire hazard? Its called upgrading the breaker and wire size. It will cost less than $100. I can walk you through any electrical work if you need. I worked in that field in the past an have wired many rooms.

If you have 30" your fine. I keep my 1000w DE's at 24" and do not bleach my plants.

5 600w will not out yield 3 1000w DE. I can guarantee you that. I have used both in the past. Have you ever used 1000w DE?

I have set designed and set up many grow rooms. What you address above does not prevent you from running 1000w. If you have 2 extra amps to use (I'm sure you do, thats very little power), at least 24" of head room, and you buy an air cooled hood, YOU CAN EASILY USE 1000w.

Check out how close these buds are under standard 1000w HPS. They're about 12-18", some of them even closer. They are not bleached so if your bleaching at 30" under a 600w something else is going on.

Your like talking to a wall. Good luck with your 600s. If you ever want to step it up and grow more, buy some 1000s. Im out of here as well.

Some of us choose not to air cool. Me being one of them. My 600s stay around 2ft above my plants. You couldn't pay me to air cool.

1000s work great. I just choose to use 600s, and they work great too.

You're beating a dead horse. Rooms are designed around constraints, it's really that simple.

Yeah sure, here it is:
http://hydrobuilder.com/parsource-commercial-de-open-system-208-240v.html?dzid=strands_PHDEKT1
That complete system is only 240v though;-)
They have one that does both(120v and 240v), but it has the gavita looking hood. More of a square footprint.

Keep in mind though, you need to keep this fixture around 3' above canopy.
And the bulb it comes with works fantastic(Agrosun).
I think The Ushio Hilux Gro bulb is better, not by much, but if you were to piece together the same setup but with the ushio bulb instead, it's waaay more.(i've done it :-( ) and yet, I haven't seen much if any difference between the two bulbs.

Here is a hood with the ballast mounted remotely. All you need is a ballast to hood extension cord(hydrofarm pattern)

I run 24 600s. Money has nothing to do with it. It's my choice, I like them, I learned on them in a 7ft single wide. It's what I know. Why would I change? Especially when pulling 1.5 per.

I have ran 6 1000w DE over a 24 site 13gallon undercurrent. They were great, but I didn't pull but a few more grams per watt.
Idk. I just like my 6s.
what bulbs do u prefer?? ive been running 600's myself for awile, i feel i get better yields than with a 1k,closer to canopy,etc.. but i use cheap bulbs,,did tests against high priced bulbs with no big differences in yield,,only high priced bulbs last a bit longer so i change bulbs every 8 months with high priced bulbs i cange yearly...but now i just run cheap bulbs mostly ipower, plantmax is my favorite with great yields for 8 months easy.. ge,ultra sun etc..
stay away from via volt bulbs though, had 2 neither lasted 6 months and silver liquid was all over the inside the bulbs..

advanced nutrients is just an overpriced brand imo. it's like a bose stereo system. marketed as the best and top of the line. but at the same time you can get another brand like axiom for less money and just as good performance. if you really still want an just stick with the basic veg and bloom. the rest of the shit is usually just snake oils.

i ran 4 600s for a while. then i switched them for 2 1000s. air cooled hoods btw. i went back to 4 600s. just seems more efficient for me. with 600s and the proper cooling your plants can touch the glass and not burn. i might try switching back to the 1000s again just so i can say i did and see if my opinion changes. i see good arguments from both sides. everyone i know that has big grows im talking about 72 giant plants, they all use 600s and been doing it for years. i say fuk yaw im getting one of these bitches and possibly 4 more if i like it. http://kindledgrowlights.com/product/led-grow-light-fixtures-k5-xl1000/

Well this has been a bit entertaining watching the whole picture stealing thingy play out. If you have to revert to using someone else's pictures and claiming they are yours you really have to step back and ask yourself "When did I become a fraud?" and maybe after some honest soul-searching re-evaluate your life.

As far as bulbs go.....600 or 1000....really? As long as you're using quality bulbs it really shouldn't matter....it's all about covering a given area with ample lighting. I personally would prefer five 600w vs. three 1000w over the same space...but that's just a preference....just as those the prefer the 1000w bulbs.

Anyone seen this?? BS or What??

Standard type 1000w HPS produced more total weight than a Gavita DE 1150w o_Oo_Oo_O
Not sure how biased the results are forget the LED part...lol

I run Area 51 Leds and advanced nutrients in fox farm soil. No problems here . I haven't tried anything else and do not need to . I've seen my frosty buds come out nice everytime . However I'm unbiased to using anything else
