Look for a user called 941Mick.

He knows the advanced nutrients and which ones are bogus.

There are countless threads already in the nutrients section pertaining to advanced nutrients.

It will take a while to fish through the threads though as there's a lot of trash talking.

Personally I'm not a fan of AN be ause of the prices etc.

But ultimately anything can work.

A $100 bottle of supplements can work just aswell as a $5 bag of dry salts as it's what the grower can do with them that matters.

You can have all the fancy power tools at your disposal still doesn't make you a Carpenter.

I have had positive results using the iguana 2 part grow and bloom in ffof soil. I also like Nirvana, and Big Bud as booster nutrients. Overdrive is nice to finish with just before flushing too, but by no means necessary. Bud candy leaves things nice and frosty, but it leaves a taste on the flowers you may or may not care for. Nirvana leaves an all natural taste.

Big bud is decent.

I suggest you stay away from advanced nutrients, they have alot of stuff going on, its a very complicated and expensive system, and some of the products are not necessary. You need to find out if the additives are even necessary.

Find a one part system, Dynagro, General Hydroponics, Botanicare.. etc. Start with that, then start using additives from AN.

Spend money on nice ballasts and new bulbs on each grow if you really want great results.

Personally Im a fan of the pH perfect.. I've tried a few of their other products but stick to exactly what you have going now (with the addition of some calmag).

The only time I had pH problems was when adding silica which is largely unnecessary

Same here.

I use CANNA.

My ph once mixed between 0.8-1.6EC is within range for my liking.

0.8EC comes out at 6.1pH with source water starting at 6.9.

1.6EC comes out at 5.9pH same source water.

IMO for my purposes that's perfect.

Wasn't the pH perfect technology suppose to allow access to all nutrients regardless of the ph of the solution. Even if the solution was in the 4's or 8's?

I'm sure I read that in an edition of RoseBud magazine or I could be making it up. Lol who knows lol.

so besides big bud, overdrive, b-52..... what are must have additives?? an only please
Just buy big bud.. thats it.. the rest you can make something similar.

B52- kelp and some B vitamins, The plant b vitamins only costs about 5 a dollar and should treat a hundred gallons, I get kelp teas for free at the garden store.

I'm still trying to understand what overdrive is.. I think its a P-K booster with a little sulfur. Im not totally sure on this but I bet something like so-po-mag should be pretty close.
