I have absolutely zero problem using window bangers in some of my setups. If it's A smaller room/setup, I'll consider it. Call me weird, i don't even care. Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes.
I've actually mounted them thru-wall into another room behind it a couple times over the years. The room behind it acts as an air-cooled plenum if you will. You do need to plan on catching the drip though. And air-cooling that plenum room obviously. Some window bangers don't even have a drainage hole at the very back. New Frigidares come to mind. They do have a drainage hole thingy, but not like others/older ones. Most new window bangers are designed to mainly "lick" up the condensate, and blow it over the coils. So, it gets turned into shit loads of humidity.

Hey guys! Thanks for a few replys. I'll clarify some stuff. Money isn't really a problem, just that I was preferring to keep my entire initial investment under 2000 to get started lol, any more is just that much more I need to pull off my run to pay for itself. So really a $1k would just make me consider myself 3/4 of a pound down lol.
Still not sure about what all I'll be needing tho. Since they are that expensive would I be best to just buy a frigidaire or something decent but cheaper for now till I get a better room set up?

Eventually down the line yes I want to add co2. But not here as this room is set up really goofy due to its location in the house. I'll load a photo real fast so you all see what I'm running with here

Here's a couple photos. The room is 6ft x 4ft wide, 10 ft tall and you can see the slanted wall that makes the room triangular. I have that room and a flipped version of it for my veg room.
I don't feel I have much room to install the wall unit but I was thinking for a smaller potable unit I could tuck it back into that corner along with my little fan. And then my plant area was the big squarer spot, roughly a 4x4 with a small slant at the back edge of it lol

9000 btu or 12000 btu mini split

if u are adding Co2 later ........skip all the other crap and get the mini split ....mount it about 8 feet high on the wall (above the light) this will pull in the hottest air first to cool down

if u buy a windowshaker and put it tho the wall u are later going to need a mini split and u will have a spare AC .....skip it and get the MINI SPLIT
i have roughly about 4k in gear .....2.5 k of it no good (started with CFLS moved to t5s HID and finally LED ) ...got ballast bulbs hoods t5s hydro gear even a co2 tank (20lbs)

u got the cash buy the end product and skip the head aches / collection of extra gear
