ladybugs are better as preventative, they will eat most things they can catch... for gnats best to use nematodes.
Thank you! I brought a ladybug in from outside to test this and it straight up went to war on those things, but not sure where she ended up as I went for a smoke break came back and she was gone. Prolly had herself a thanksgiving feast and was out.

Yep I did the same with a praying mantis weeks ago and haven't seen it yet......

May be she is on the fan blades of those active cooled heatsinks.

The only way she died in my room is from flying into a cfl bulb in the veg area. Other than that the carbon filters aren't going to suck her up as they have cloth around them. :P

cmon silly, I wouldn't throw her into the blades of a jet plane that is fucked up.

a lot of them die in the fans, or lights, whenever I clean the lights there is literally hundreds of dead ladybugs :\ A lot of them just die... low RH isnt great for ladybugs. You need to buy thousands of ladybugs to make a difference ,... bringing 1 ladybug in the grow room isnt going to help...

It was just curiosity, I nuked them with an h202 bath.

If you are going to use ladybugs, then check out this video.
Thanks for posting, I am thinking of doing a worm farm and a little ladybug hovel :P. Thinking of leaving both of those outside the grow room though, I don't think I really want anything flying around the grow room. Even if they are good bugs.

Sorry green not hijackin your thread, I will sit back and wait for the magic to come through ;).

Thanks nevergoodenuf! I am looking forward to try this out. Been using ladybugs for many years and I have always wished I could keep them alive longer...

I should be getting the W90s before the end of this week, plants will be ready for flowering as soon as I get them. In the meantime, I somewhat fixed the old fero, I was down to 3 clusters... I tested every drivers and it turned out only 1 driver was fried so I am back up to 14 clusters, lots of burned diodes though. I took the 400w MH out so we are back to 100% LEDs.

Hi there, I'm very curious to see your results because I too have ordered 2 of these lights. I went with 4,000k for the entire life cycle of the plant, do you think that was a wise choice? This is the first a51 product I've ever bought. My last light was a XML 150 from advanced leds, speaking of which is it hard to replace drivers?

Your xml 150 is already dead? I am not the best person to ask about the kelvins, I ordered 3000k and 4000k and plan to mix them, I think 4000k is wise if you plan to use the fixtures for both veg and flower. Drivers should be easy to replace, plug and play.

The XML 150 was a gift from an ex, it was bought in her name so they won't redeem the warranty or even fix the light without her consent. It lasted about a year before the one driver burned out. Still managed nice buds even with half a light in my last run lol. Anybody have any advice on kinds of liquid nutrients to use? So much to choose from. I bought the fox farm line last time, I'm thinking about trying general hydro though.

If you ask on my thread I will brainwash you to not buy bottled nutes and grow in organic supersoil or ROLS, there is a great thread about ROLS in the organic section. As a cheap quick last minute resort, I do use biothrive when my plants are fading too early, as far as bottled nutes goes, its seems like a better option than general hydro (same brand anyway) or fox farm.

I am so glad I bought some 4000k to mix with the 3000k, what a difference between the 2! I really like the natural daylight color I am getting with the lights.

I just hung the lights quickly tonight, so much cooler than the 400w MH so far. There is 720 watts over them and I will take out any additional lights and tidy up the room tomorrow, so it will be either 720w or 900w depending if I go with 8 or 10 units. My goal is to get a full pound of super high grade not including lower fluffy buds.

I joined 8 lights together, 4 x 4000k and 4 x 3000k, I still I have 2 x 3000k that I might add to the mix. I will turn off the lights tomorrow, it will be the start of 12/12. I think I will flower 3 plants in this room, maybe 4, oh gods and blue city diesels... I might instead run some of my own medicinal og blueberry cross under them, I have to think about it... the indicas are further ahead.

wish me luck!
