A51 W90s grow

Hey RIU, been a while...

Not too sure what is happening in the LED scene these days, all I know is I need to replace some old fixtures and I have decided to put the w90s from A51 to the test. I will use them in a small room to see if they compare to their ancestors AF600s.

I am in the process of ordering them, hoping Jeff will cut me a deal ;) Make no mistake though, I am not biased and I will share pics so that you at home can see whether or not they are worth the money. I have been very pleased with my AF600s and its basically the only reason I didnt bother looking at other manufacturers ... there are so many!! Also I don't have time for DIYs...

All 3 AF600s I own are still growing some fire weed 2-3 years later, 1 light out of 3 is running 14/16 and the other 2 are still 100%, by far the best lights I have ever bought)

So yeah, its very frustrating having to replace fixtures that were rated to last 50 000 hours after only a couple years or less (just so you know, 50 000 hours is about 12 years of 12/12) Some of the fixtures that have died or are about to are advance diamond, blackstar and fero ...none of these lights broke the 2 year mark, very frustrating when they are advertised to last 50 000 hours and cost so much money.

I will be ordering some 3000k and 4000k. Thinking to grow 4-6 plants under 8 lights, likely 4x3000k and 4x4000k. (would like your input on the kelvins...) There will be no residual lights, strictly W90s and I may or may not keep track of GPW but will definitely keep everyone posted on the quality.

I wont be getting the lights for another month or so but plants will be ready for 12/12 when they arrive ... feel free to share your thoughts and stay tuned, lots of pics to come...

Good to see you back GS..............still rocking 12/12 from the get-go?
12/12 from seed when I fall behind but I generally veg my plants now. I am still on the hunt for the special one, I have a good cut now its a (ChemoXRespect) X Ancient OG . Smelled like blueberry so it was revegged and I am running it for a second time. Otherwise I am mostly running old seeds or Jordan of the Islands gear. I have a male BlueCityDiesel I plan to use on some of my females.
What's A Shaking Brother Green Santa?
Same old Same old! Whats up with you Dawg!?
Glad to see you back! Still rocking the AF wow those were some beasts. Always enjoyed your grows and looking forward to watching this one. Welcome back buddy.
Thanks puffenuff, what lights are you running nowadays?

I will try to upload some pics soon, looks pretty good in the bud room. I will likely keep my posts shorter than I used to, typing hurts my hands! So it will be more of a picture journal... anyway dont be sad if I dont get back to you and thanks in advance for enjoying the pics!

Here is a few pics of the budding room while we are waiting for the W90s, W90s will be going in a separate room that is about 6x8 but will only have the lights over 4x4 of plant canopy.

I added the 400w MH last night, so far plants were grown under LEDs only but one strain stretched a little more than anticipated and since my FERO is nearly dead I figured I could afford more power in there. That Locomotion sounds killer. I am having a hard time collecting pollen from my BCD it seems it drops all its pollen in the daytime and when I go to shake it at night all I get is empty pods. I wanted to freeze a bunch so that I can use it on various females for many many rounds... my male turned straight purple, pollen pods and all, wonderful smell, structure... anyway hope it works out.

Hey GS, still rocking my Apaches and the sgs160. Dabbled a bit with diy cobs and used it for one run before ripping my 2 builds apart to reuse parts in a bigger project that I've yet to complete. Finding the time for diy is my biggest problem. I'd much rather just pay extra and buy something already built.

Jeff at A51 is considering making custom COB builds with passive cooling and 3590's.

I just transplanted the plants that will be grown under the w90s. 2-6 plants depending on when I get the lights. I also moved 4 AncientOG X Crisco (the blueberry pheno) into the other flower room. Im hoping to get the lights within 2 weeks so these plants will be ready to be flowered. The line up might be OhGod, Ancient OG X Crisco and ZionHaze.

Why cut it? Not planning on snorting it, I hope.

HEhe Dawg I m trying something new... Hoping to keep the ladybugs alive a little longer in a dryish environment, I thought a little mulch might help, I mixed straw that had been sitting outside for months and shredded comfrey leaves. So far, only the woodbugs seem to like it :/ . All the pots I mulched have healthy plants in them anyway...

Corn starch helps absorb moisture, moisture is worst enemy of pollen. Also, this way, a little wee bit of pollen goes a long way. I plan to use and re-use for back crosses and what not, depending on the viability. Snorting days are over...

Do lady bugs eat gnats??? :D or even the little root fuckers? I seem to have a shit ton that fly down my street every day, which means if you open the door or window one of those silly fuckers will try to get into my domain. :(...
