A Little Purple in my PE

G13 Pineapple Express at 7 weeks showing a little purple in one of 12 grown. Grow room night temps in low 60's may be contributing?
Anyone else see this on their PE grows?

I had a little in mine as well, didn't notice until after cut and cure though. All of the buds are flecked in little purple bits. I had low expectations for this strain, but it turned out to be one of the best plants I've grown yet - total surprise. Not bad for a freebie.

Low temps maybe or its becuase it coming too mature.

I grew out a pack of PE a while back, took clones from them all and selected a Mother to keep. My mom is a ativa leaning pheno, wreaks of lemon mixed fruit smell. I noticed some purpling in my pheno this summer.



Im a caregiver in Maine, gets very cold here in winter. so I tried to see how purple it can get w/ cold. I took a mature plant at 60 days flowering and left it in a dark closet in my cold garage for 72 hours. The fans leaves that were purple turned a very dark purple, almost black. The flowers themselves had purple on the inside as well as the outside, not tons but some purple. .....The cold just brings the purple out more

Im thinking theres some purple in the genetics somewhere,I get some purple even in the warm summer. Much more with colder air in the winter

yeah that's great man thx for sharing that. i love the strain. the genetics are ambiguous and i wish there was more info on the parentage. i'll push the night temps a little lower and mb i'll get even more purple in the buds. it does make for great bag appeal

the tops of my buds are starting to do the same thing. im at day 51 in 12/12. my buds are starting to flop all over too! any one have that problem? plus this thing is crazy nitrogen hungry the leaves turned yellow so easy... but the buds ive sampled so far have been super musky pineapple-rubber flavor. not what i expected but its ok, super sativa high tho! wowza! most sativa ive ever grown!

the genes are most likely C99 pineapple pheno x trainwreck. but ive heard of maui wowie x trainwreck and pineapple kush x trainwreck too. but i really really think G13 labs pineapple express is c99 x trainwreck.
trainwreck can turn purple, and so can C99... so that even furthers my geuss.

what c99 did u get Legalize? female seeds has a great deal on c99. and i believe mosca has one too... female seeds grapefruit is a c99 hybrid too. i think they have a few of them. moroc x c99 think? something like that...

dannyboy... reserva privada just sold old of their new purple wreck strain that was released in January. i think there are alot of purple phenos of "trainwreck" tho... its cuz most arent TRUE og trainwreck. the old t4 trainwreck or arcata or whatever is a very very unstable clone only strain. any time u breed with it it will only produce hermies. this new wave of "trainwreck" is something a bit different, yet still very popular. the og trainwreck is an old ass strain anyways from the 80's. there is better trainwreck hybrids nowadays for sure IMO. i think it has more afghan/kush genes in it to keep it more stable. that would easily explain the dark foilage that often turns purple.
id love to grow a straight up trainwreck to compare to my PE. i bet the new ones are AWESOME!
a few years back a friend grew a batch of what was supposed to be the t4 trainwreck. he had a very hard time trying to tie up the stems and keep the buds from flopping all over the place. but the buds were almost a blue color they were so brilliant. they had a crazy scent and tasted a little bit like rotten food and menthol mixed. people loved it tho... it was a bit too sativa for my tastes tho. he tried both cloning it and breeding it and neither worked well... all seeds were hermies and the clones had a wicked genetic drift.

btw folks... been harvesting my PE day by day... the last few tops are turning purple on the tips of the calyxes. my PE has a very pungent rubber-like smell, musky smell. it finishes with a hint of pineapple, not much. hardly fruity at all, which is why i bought the seeds its a very very resin covered pheno, it was a bit leafier than i like tho. it has a very sativa dominant high as well. i took a clone of it, which is almost ready to be put into 12/12 and the clone shows the sativa aspects quite a bit. i have 7 more female seeds of this strain and im considering trying another seed since i didnt get the pheno i had hoped for.

you guys end up with more indica looking plants? most people do...

How did I let this slip through the cracks nice buds!

I ended up with the indica skunky musky smelling pheno too. Not very fruity, bud amazing amounts of resin! I have never had a plant back on that much resin before, ever.
