A couple small, brown (possibly mold {?}) leaves from the bud itself

Hello everyone, I’m new to the forum (but not new to marijuana) and I need some help. I have been smoking marijuana for about 15 years but I have never grown it (lucky enough to be very good friends with my dealer - $40 1/8th of DANK) save for this year. I only have 2 plants (one is very small, about 18” – 22” {from soil to the top} and the other is almost 6’ in a pot, not in the ground) and I imagine I won’t yield more than 1 ½ oz total.
Here is my issue:
After inspection (which is daily) I found two small leaves (about ½” long) attached to the bud, not fan leaves that were brown (not crispy, burned brown but almost moldy-looking brown). I carefully removed the two small leaves (? – part of a bud leaf) and, without thinking to take a picture, threw them away. My question is, should I harvest right away or do I have a week or more to wait? The trichomes on many buds, but not all are turning milky-white and some are turning amber. I know this is an indication of harvest but some of the buds look like they need to fill out for a couple of weeks. Any idea what this might be? Is it harvest time? Do I have the luxury to allow for a 24 hour period with no light, or should I immediately harvest, or can I wait a week or longer to harvest? I am not sure what the problem is and don’t want to lose my plants. Any help would be much appreciated.

TIA,
Mr Bubble

Pictures, pictures, pictures. :) From what I understand, half cloudy, half amber is the ideal harvest time.
