Alright so Ive wanted to start a journal for a while and just had two seeds (purple cheese auto and super bud auto) pop up 5 days ago, I also have an amnesia auto I've been growing for 5 1/2 weeks to see if I'd kill it or not before I actually start. Now this may a little all over the place as I will be starting more soon and throwing the purple cheese, super bud outside, the amnesia will run her course inside. In two weeks I'll be starting up another purple cheese and 2 devil's cream by sweet seeds( very excited about these!) And they will run their course inside as.well.
The equipment
Tent size 5x5x7
Lights 2- 125 actual watt CFLs, 1 200 actual watt CFL for canpoy, for side lighting I have 10 23 watt CFLs and 2 HO22s T5s
Soil- happy frog by fox farms 30% perlite in 5 gallon smart pots
I will be watering with fliltered phd water and for nutes im.gonna start basic, I have roots organic Buddha grow and bloom, fox farms tiger bloom, and terpinator.
This all very exciting and I hope will.work out as planned I'll take any suggestions and help I can.get

Looks pretty good, I like the hanging Y cfl side lighting. That works really well in spaces between plants so both sides of the bulbs get used ;) Looks like you have mixed spectrums on them too? I like to do that throughout the grow, keeps them bushy in veg and good resin/density combination in flower.

Thanks mang, yes I love the y sockets cheap and effective! And so far I'm liking that they are hanging how they are it's very easy to manipulate control where the light goes, I ordered a 125 watt 2700k yesterday and plan on getting some more 23 watt 2700 mayb even 2100 k bulbs for the sides I've seen amazing grows with the mixed spectrums!

ok man

1 CFL lights are only good for about 12 inches of light .......depath into to the plant
2 the mininal safe distance from cfl to plant is 4 inches ( with in 2 and half the plant will burn and fry up).....u need to leave space for the plant to grow up and out
3 Cfls make alot of heat something like 165 degrees arond the bulb the more u add into the area to cover the plant the hotter it will get in there ........at some point it is now worth it anymore as u are spending more money on power to cool the area off

4 u should think about investing into a generic LED light ........this is auto plants a all in one light will work well for u ( less power cost in lighting and cooling but more power from the light alowing a thicker better plant )

5 what feed system are u using ........i can see your starting plants they have red vein on the stem meaning they need some N to get going ........i personally like to use rapid start rooting and b52 (rooting stuff is the best i seen in 4 years of experimnets .......the b52 has vits and a quick for of N the plant can use)

6 that fan u have ........back it off the area a little and make sure it is moving when u have it one (wind burn on the plants)

7 what else do u need to know

Thank you so much for the reply this is huge!
For the lighting ...... yes I stupidly bought CFLs thinking they would be a good choice cause heat is an issue for me.... I was wrong:wall: Im gonna try and cut my losses and trade them in and get a Mars hydro set up unless you recommend something else

For the feeding I wasn't gonna feed until 21/2 weeks old , I have basic roots organic Buddha grow and terpinator for veg and for bloom I have roots organic Buddha bloom and fox farms tiger bloom also with the terpinator. I was gonna do half what they recommend and see how the plants react and either do more or less depending the i feel nutes and feeding is where my downfall will be still not really sure when and how much
Thats one of four fans I have them all pretty low but will back it off I will take more pictures tonight if that would help any

your just doing auto plants .........skip mars
http://www.amazon.com/Apollo-Horticulture-GL100LED-Spectrum-Growing/dp/B00FGG1HDM

this is the generic brand ......this has a good blue to red combo in it i have used these lights to grow in veggie and flower .......it will do u good

ok your feed ......u only have parts of a 2 kits
http://www.amazon.com/General-Hydroponics-Organics-Go-Box/dp/B004PS4B08

this is a all in one buy .....the whole kit ......a feed plan is on the side u can fallow to make your baseline plants for that strain (baseline plant is one u grow naturally fallowing the simple feed plan) this tells u what the plant did and u can tweak what u did next time to understand it it does better or wrost (start of your learning curve) .....this box is orgainc based so makes the plants PH stay stable (chemical based feeds can tho soil PH out of wack more work ........hold off on those for later so u are not over whelmed )

to make feeding easy i would tell u to buy some pipettes (plastic eye droppers makes mizing up feed simple
1ml and 3mls
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_0_6?url=search-alias=industrial&field-keywords=pipettes&sprefix=pipett,lawngarden,173

500 count box has lasted me 3 years now i am about to reorder 3mls

And will definitely will looking to get the rapid root and b52 if it's safe for seedlings
they are both safe ........it is just matter of keeping the amount u give to them at right lvls
6 mls of rapid start 5 mls of b-52 per gallon of water .......and seedlings starter plants only get 1 quart of water every 2 days untill it builds up then u increase the amount of water u give it as it grows in untill finally u are at full water retenetion (every planter only holds so much water before leaks out that is max rentetion)

This is great stuff will definitely be purchasing that line for the final three that will stay inside and experiment with nutes I have now that will go outside a good feeding plan will definitely help me out
For the Apollo how many watts would you recommend for three plants I was thinking seven hundred would be okie but will get the nine hundred if need be and keep the hanging CFLs for side lighting and shits and giggles here's another far away pic of the setup if that helpsIMG_20160520_231701.jpg

5'x5'x7' I was just doing some research and was thinking a couple smaller ones would be better for three plants

ok here is the deal with those lights

300w are good for about a 2.5x2.5 ft footprint
these lights get about 32 inches in depth into the plant of usable light .......the heat they make is tiny and the amp drawl/watts are low too

now here is the trick with LED T5s Hids

get a 2 flashlights and play around with them hold it about 18inches from the ground and shine it down .....blow some smoke/vape down u see how the light does a cone shape .....with a center being really bright and the outside is dimmer........now use the 2nd light and bring it in closer to the first see how the over laping increases that light on the edge so it looks like center light

your going to do the same thing with the lights in the tent........so if u want to do 3 u can with 3 lights just know in the center of that set up will be like a 4th light

led are measured in core footprints and par ratings

Thank you this all helps alot ! The flash light explanation is perfect Would have never thought about that, ok so I plan on ordering the nutes and 2 300s tomorrow and get another 300 the week after I really hope these help with heat cause today around 4 it was toasty as hell in there (92f )
The video was a great chunk of Info as well I liked the bouncer and clicker explanation thank you I'll be looking up more of their vids

Just got the b52 and ordered lights and also ordered the root rapid just a quick question can I use the b52 in soil? It states it's "Coco safe" and says designed for use with hydroponic growing media just want to make sure

HansBud

And do you personally use the b52 throughout the whole grow in conjunction with the general hydroponics go box line? And should I be watching out for mixing the other nutes I have? I don't plan on using the roots oragnics when I get the go box but I still wanna use the terpinator which is 0-0-4

yes can use in any thing hydro soil coco

yes i use b-52 when the plant needs it the whole life
b-52 is a destresser for the plant ......it has a quick form of N the plants roots can intake and the load of vits in it to help the cells

as for what i use in my feed .........yes i use organics from GH and chemicals from FF..........my system i use super soil for the main power to the plant with feeds just as secondary stuff to help correct any issue the plant has druing the life of it

i was working on getting the THC higher in my plants ......i just finished that part i know how to make it stronger .......now it is combining the thc and the bulk builder into one plan

That's awesome! Sounds good! THC strength is big for me right now since this is for personal use and to kind of show my buddy's up since they laugh in my face for buying autos saying they will be weak and tiny as fuck, Im hoping I can get this shit potent as hell first then I wanna work on the bud size

Here's a little up date, the amnesia is lookin like she's really starting to flower now! She's on day 40 since germination I'm thinking another 35-45 days all in all she looks happy so far

Also just watered the purple cheese and super bud one liter each with 11/2mls of b-52 per liter hopefully this will help the reddish/purple stems
These gals are 8 days old today
