i sealed off my vents to the room. I’m the flower room ready for summer. I have a window ac unit that would have setup on the same time as the hps lights. I’m going to have 2 air cooled 600wt hoods connected with duct, fan and carbon filter. For this size room a 400 cfm fan should work? I figure if it’s too strong I can dial it down. I’m also thinking about the carbon filter if I should build my own or buy one of those 50 dollar 6inch filters. What do you guys think

Buy the scrubber. They are relatively easy and inexpensive to make but the purchased one is tested and efficient at what it does its may need some tweaking and if you don't want oder then just buy the scrubber.

You will need a Dehumitifer
When the lights go out in a sealed room your humidity will spike , probably make it rain.
You get what you pay for , carbon filters especially, buy a CanFilter or Lite n be done with it, $60 dollar filter will last a couple months in a stinky room. (If that)

I would look at a bigger fan , n dialing it down , will really cut sound, and if you get a heat wave, easier to turn it up to move more air.

8x7x8 = 448 cubic feet
At 400cfm (cubic feet minute) at 100% you would exchange the air in your room every minute or so.. some claim 2-5 times every minutes some others once every 5 minutes... i didnt see any test result that suggest one is better than the other necessarly however as suggested in a previous post.. you better go a little more and reduce if its too much than not enough and regret you didnt go bigger. At the end of the day its all about making sure you have good humidity, good air flow and good temp.. if you can get that either you exchange air multiple time in a minute or every few minutes shouldnt impact anything if you maintain proper airflow in the tent.

It’s a room, I was going to use the window ac as the dehumidifier and for cool air. I didn’t plan to have it running during the night cycle so I’ll look into a dehumidifier. My hoods are 8inch idk how that skipped my mind. But the fans that fit that size are huge but I guess I’ll just dial them down. There are combo kits on amazon for fan and filter, is that not a good place to get a filter?

If you got a little extra $$$ the vortex S 8” is very nice , smaller too. I run mine at about 40-50%
smaller where lol, and no not untill first harvest lol. I’ve dumped way more into this than originally planned. This filter is the last thorn in my side I have to deal with. So I think I’m going to buy a 8 inch combo set get a good 2-3 harvest out of the filter and either build or buy a better one

By tested I meant every company that actually manufactures the scrubbers product tests their scrubbers to list their specifications. No personal data just think the purchased one being product tested will be more efficient and more likely to work then a diy unit.

Forgot to take a pic when the light cycle was on so bare with the dim pics. So the guy I was buying my second 8 inch hood from have the wrong one. It’s outdated one without vent holes. I refuse to pay 200 for a setup right now. Soo moving forward. After these potted plants on the ground is finish flowering I’m going to setup a 3by3 next to this 4 by 4 table. On the left side(4x4 table) I’m going to use a winged 600wt reflector and the right is getting the 8 inch air cooled hood. Behind the 3x3 any other plants/clones or mothers I choose to throw in flower that’s potted in dirt or coco is going there with a cooltube 6inch. I still need another ballast I brought the hood by itsself for 40. The simple approach would be to swap the hood for the cool tube then I could use a reducer before it reaches the cool tube. But I want the better coverage over the f&d table..HELP!!! Lol
