80 plant grow room - ADVICE?

Hey, setting up a grow room in a couple months, trying to figure out all the details. I'm going to go SOG, how does 1 plant per sq/ft, 80 plants, with 3 1000w HPS lights sound. Is that overkill on the lights? Obviously going to have a completely light proof room, carbon filter, and some fans. Approx how much yield do you think I can get out of a setup like this? Any additional advice - tips would be great. Thanks.

if your running three thousand watts your gonna def need an ac, also depending on the pot size and your reflector you could get away with using two thousand watts. and if your not bringing fresh air in from outside you gonna have to use supplemental co2, eighty plants will require alot of co2 to fully flurish.

Do you think I'll still need an AC with 2000 watts? Would 3x600w be better than 2x1000w to spread the light around a bit more? I was thinking probably use 5 gallon pots. Bringing in fresh air won't be a problem, thanks for the advice.

All realy depends on the size of the plants when you put them to flower.Don't just think about the final yeild think about how much work will be involved with a grow of this size full time job.

dude u should need a few more than 3 lights for 80 plant man they will b stretchy az ull prob need at least six 600wts ...the lankier the plants the more room u need and ....more light is better ....plus u gota think of the power bill it will b massive ....u can get the same yeild with half the plants with the same light cause ur plants arent competing for light they will b nice and bushy ...

my bill usually runs 250-300 a month and I run 4400 watts in hps, about 7 fans, 2 ac's, 2 air cleaners, around 10 four foot flo fixtures, environmental controller, 2 co2 burners, 1 co2 regulator and a few mis things. But that is all that is used in the whole house, nothing else is drawing power.

and you absolutely could fit 80 plants under 2000 watts without any stretching if you keep a close eye on them and keep the lights close enough, and have the right hood

NICE! Good to actually get a dollar figure for the hydro of what to expect. I also plan on not drawing power from anywhere else, no hot water, no oven, no fuck all. How many plants does 4400 watts get ya if you don't mind me asking? Thanks man.

sounds good, nice to have the space for a big grow. as for the lights, you could do it with 3 (not too much, you'll love it) if you hooked them up with an aircooling network exhaust.

For the SOG, most sources agree that roughly one plant per square foot is the optimum setup (rosenthal, my guru, etc). but, you are going to run out of space to move around, prune, adjust watering mechanisms, and a million other terrible unknown things. go with 60-70, or more prefferably a rotating crop, and you will be happy and efficient.
yield could be roughly 1/2 oz. per plant, so 30 oz for 60 plants. beautiful! i would love to see what you do with your plans/plants, keep us posted.
