How big is the plant, I'm sure you thought of stakes. Ever think of maybe getting a tomato cage?

When I grew outside we used tomato cages when we had to, yeah a stake should be good.

The cages we used were those plastic ones that you could piece together. Now I'm indoor so i tie things up if they get too weak, but doesn't happen very often. Even tie it up to a tree if there was one around could help you out.

You can cause the stem to be hardy by shaking ( think tickling)for 30 seconds a few times a day or by using a fan to stimulate , so you know next time

yes the breeze of a fan works indoor and the natural wind outside will make the stalk al lot stonger.

all you need is a PAPER CLIP.& a TWIG(small tree limb) about the same size or bigger than the plant stick the twig in the soil and bend the paper clip in a triangular shape put it around the plant(on one of the leaves to keep it up) and twig and tighten it up if you need pics e-mail me @ [email protected]

yeah it will thicken up in no time- just needs some gentle support for first few weeks and something a little more substantial as it gets older...
