630 cmh 4x4 tent grow

Hey, I was in my local grow store and the guys told me the cmh lights I like to run are basically obsolite now so a nice 630 dual bulb dimmable unit was going for $150. I've Been using a 315 for years with great results but didn't know if my 4x4 tent could handle a 630?
I have a very old basement with a stacked stone foundation so summer growing indoors without a dedicated a/c isn't an option. But, in the winter I get fresh cool air down there so I kinda appreciate the heat off one of these guys. I'm getting my seedlings sorted and sprouted now under the 315 but will switch over when there more established.
Anyone have experience with this set up? Are you running an intake fan or is passive air enough? I'll get some pics posted soon.

Here's what's going on now. I'm going to pull the runt in the back it's one of the blumburn "Glookies" at 3 weeks. The biggest one is the same seed but is doing well.
The other decent one is a " hippo high" free seed I got. The little one is 1 of 6 gsc cbd seeds that actually sprouted. I would have tossed it as well but they won't replace the duds so I better get this going.

Im running the dimlux 630w dimmable with Argo bulbs. The spread could be better but I’m loving the quality of bud it’s producing. Got just over 2lbs from my 4x4 with some autoflowers.

Passive air is enough. I do turn it down to 430w during flower as the hot spot in the middle fries the leaves if too close as it’s very intense.

I'll be running dual 315s in my 3.5'x3.5' closet. I had bought a dual 315 set up that had a integrated ballast to replace my old 400 watt cmh, but temps were too out of control so I finished that grow and pulled it out. I also didn't like the throw of the reflector much. I have since modified my old adjust-a-wing reflector to run 2 315s with separate ballasts outside the closet. I'll be starting a new run soon with that.

I'd say a single 315 in a 4x4 isn't enough, 630 watts will be great.

I use to run 2x 315w in 4x4 all year long without tubes and it was okay.
Just not quite enough to cover all that canopy but works anyway.

I ran 3 315 phantoms(remote ballast)in a 4x8 with an oscillating fan at one end. I had a 6” in-line to a 40” filter exhaust and a 4” inline intake both on separate variacs. Temps were steady 78° from mid October til end of April. Your only issue would be the ballast in the fixture on the Hortilux 315. Keep in mind the heat from de630 is up there. There are pics in my posts. Your set up is clean. I have since switched to LED everywhere except seedlings. Still using t5. My point being two of your 315 will give a more even light than one de630 in my experience. As always the issue with hid was heat. I ran 600 hps in cooled hoods for years with excellent results but the lack of efficiency made me switch to cmh and then led.
Ironically I just pulled out all my 315 hoods and put them in wardrobe boxes to go into the shed with all the old HID lamps.

First run I ever did inside was a combo of a 315 cmh and 2 100 watt led panels. I was in a 4x4 tent so my spread was horrible. To combat it I simply moved my plants around in the tent. Airflow was passive with lower vents open and a 4 inch inline fan with a speed controller for exhaust. I learned many things that grow, most important one was to exhaust the tent air outside of the room the tent was in.

Update. First time using the nutri+ line on this run. The res I'm using is 72 litres and usually I keep it recirculating until it's half gone if the ec allows. Then I add back what I think we're running low on (cal-mg and n in veg) is that a good practice? What's another method you guys are using? I like running these plants in 4" rockwool cubes in perlite filled flora flex containers. 4 different strains are causing some nitrogen toxicity issues and an uneven canopy but I might mom a few of these.
