So why exactly do we dislike this style of LED array? They are easy to power and put off a lot of light for their size, but as long as you have it paired with a nice heatsink you're good. Of course they won't be as good as a high dollar led setup, but maybe for a closet grow?

they are generally of dubious efficiency and reliability and force people to have hot 110VAC leads all over a less-than-ideal environment for them

I've been digging through the thread since moflow was kind enough to post it up. I understand the electrical danger issues, so it comes down to efficiency for me. Gonna have to find a par meter and see how much light im really getting. Thanks for the reply!
