My original journal was deleted, so I am starting fresh.

STRAINS:
~(2) Ace of Spades, (1) Cheesequake and (2) Purple Kush – all from 2 local dispensaries.

SETUP/TECHNIQUE:
~LST during veg with mild supercropping during flower in places where I can't tie back the buds
~Small closet grow with low ceiling. Roughly 5’widex7’,longx4.5’tall(hence the lst)
~Soil ½ fox farms Ocean Forest and ½ Happy frog, cut 20% with perlite. Using 3 gallon pots.
~600 watt HPS from start to finish.
~No nutes through veg – lights set at 18/6
~Fox Farm Big Bloom ½ strength every other watering during 12/12 and 1 tablespoon molasses for every watering during 12/12.
~6” CFM with charcoal filter to bring in air and keep smell down. oscillating fan and small cheap inline fan for heat and general circulation
~No added C02

OTHER:
~Vegged for about 5 weeks before switching to 12/12
~Found mites after about the third week of veg. light infestation, but the first time I have ever had these. Used neem2 during veg, which killed them, but they kept coming back (and the this shit is nasty to work with). In flower I am trying a new concentrate sold by my local trusted indoor garden center. It is similar to Liquid Ladybug (organic and safe through flower). We’ll see how it goes.
~I ended up sticking bamboo skewers into the sides of the pots about half way down. i used these to tie off the branches that were going past the rim of the pot. This seemed to give me a little extra space to funk-with.

Things going okay. Mites still an issue, but just here and there. I tried an organic plant wash made by a local Seattle hydro company, but after 10 days it wasn't helping much. Took that back and got MightyWash. So far did one major applicaton - found a few mites the next day, so I did another application. I will check them tongiht, but I will not do another shower of the might wash until later in the week.

Some yellowing. I am still feeding with molasis and tiger bloom. Not sure if the yellowing is from low nitrogen or mild burn from doing so many showers for the mites (and the lights burning). mostly the plants look real healthy. I think the strech is about done and waiting fo the buds to fatten-up. So far, the Ace of Sapdes is the only one really showing crystals. Cheese quake is the stinkiest.

All advice/comments appreciated.

I finally got rid of the mites, then during week 5 we got hit with a weird heat wave and that stressed the plants (closet got in the 90's). Things seem to be on track now. The plants have perked-up and they are starting to put on weight. The three TGA strains are stinkin' -- the AOS like lemon oil and the cheesequake like fruity someting. No smell yet from the purple kush. They all seem a little small, but they are nothing but buds so I think it will work itself out. I am probably just being impatient.

Sorry for not keeping up on my journal, but personal shit kep me from it.
this is the final post for this grow, which is one of my worst grows ever. The mites fucked everything up from the beginning, stunted the growth, then I got hit with a heat wave about half way through 12/12 which took almost all of my fan leaves out so the buds couldn't bulk up like they should. I harvested, three weeks ago, but it was pathetic and I didn't even take final photos.

In the end, the cheesequake is very good and I will definitely grow this again (from another/better vender) and the AOS is decent but nothing thrilling. The big downer was that I come to find out after the grow that the people who sold me the purple kush clones, basically just took the name - the weed doesn't look, smell, taste or have the high of the purple kush everyone else grows (that they rave about). I emailed the guy and he basically said it was a special weed with high CBD/low THC for parkisons patients. BULLSHIT! this stuff couldn't get a 3 year old high. Very bummed. i may have enough from this grow to last through the summer until my next grow, but it will be tight. I will be smoking that PK garbage in August, I bet. Good thing my last grow was so fruitful.
