I need to know where I stand out there... I have a 400 hps in a 2'8"x2'8" foot space. 6000 Lumens per square feet IF i dont lower the light BUT I did.. I have a cool-tube..

So where do I stand guys because I know im not doing bad

The sun produces about 10000 lumens/sq foot on a mid summer day. 3000 is generally considered the minimum with the ideal being somewhere between 7-10k. With 6k lumens you should do pretty damn well assuming heat stress isn't an issue. Happy growing.

bump=hits the top of the page.

6000lumens persq foot is alot, kinda sounds like a waste of light, since the space is so small.

I read so many times that there isnt a certain thing.

HPS from start to finish produces better buds then CFLS>HPS

Am i doing anything wrong?

Sure there is such a thing as too much light, but usually for us that just means it's energy wasted as opposed to something that could actually do harm to the plant.

6k/sf is about the most you could ever pososibly utilize without co2 and advanced growing media so yea, you're good.

As long as you are able to keep the temperature and humidity within the acceptable range, you are fine. I'm sure you know this already, but you should keep the temp between 70F-80F, and the humidity between 35%-50%. Like the others pointed out, with that much light you are probably not able to take advantage of all of it without additional CO2 supplementation.

I really wouldnt be worried if I were you. 6k lumens just means better penetration into your canopy during flowering, With the extra lumens you could raise the light and spread out the plants so they get more light down lower during flowering.

During veg you will just get some really fast growth, and lots of big strong shoots.

Generally noone is going to be using too much light, you are just losing efficiency.

There is such a thing as too much light and the plants will start to "bleach out" and get white and faded, but this is rare. Chances are the extra lumens will just be wasted on the upper parts of the plant, and help penetrate deaper to the lower branches.

Cool.. EXACTLY what I like to hear..BIGGER and STRONGER branches = more smoke:bigjoint:

As far as co2 I used the carbon jr from htg...had the carbon sucked into my tent and chill there for a bit..

Then went back to normal..
this is a sure way to get some co2 in there..
temps rose to 86F though when I added it.
