60 Minutes -- "soft" corruption

For anybody who missed it last night, 60 Minutes did a piece on our elected officials' ability to trade on insider information. What would put anybody else trading on insider information in jail is perfectly legal for members of Congress. Yep, people on committees who know about legislation being passed which will affect certain stocks are free to trade on that information before anyone else does.
And people wonder why people are in the streets protesting.

Hey I have pointed this out many times
whether its Cantor shorting treasuries
hillary investing in cattle
or Ron Paul owning gold mining stocks
There needs to be more regulations not less

Yeah, most of them are fairly wealthy when they get there, but they leave more wealthy. And some with modest means also leave wealthy (if they ever leave).
People in national elected office should be required to put their financial affairs in a blind trust just like the president. And we need term limits for Congress too.

Yeah..I hated what happened to Gabby Giffords (first interview on tv tonight btw), but I expect to see more of that. People are that fed up with it all.

So then, I take it that you're a fan of getting rid of the entire income tax code with all of its special privileges and loopholes, and replacing it with a simple sales tax or a flat tax, right? :)
