Not too much excitement to report. I've been slowly cutting back the nutrients in the flower room in expectation that the flowering period will be ending any time now. All of the trichomes are cloudy by this point, but I have yet to see any amber. I recently read that increasing the dark period to 14 hours can help them finish ripening, so I am going to give that a try starting tonight. I haven't seen any significant increase in either density or trichome levels in the past week and a half. The friend who gave them to me said it was a 10 week flowering period, which will be this saturday. To my eye, they don't quite look like they are quite ready yet. I read on a few other threads that letting them go a full 85 days is recommended. I will probably give them one or two more waterings with weak levels of nutrients (last one I gave them was about 650 us/cm, will probably cut that in half twice), and then flush for a week or however long it takes for them to completely finish. I think they could have turned out much better if I didn't have the heat and water issues, but at this point, I get what I get, and at least the clones were free. From what I've read this is also a difficult strain to grow, so probably not the best choice for the maiden voyage of this space while still working out the kinks and buying equipment as funds allowed. If he hadn't wanted to get rid of them at that specific time I probably would have waited a month and made sure I had all of the proper infrastructure in place before putting any plants into the space. I have a few photos of the room as a whole. They are not the best because they were washed out by the LED, but I don't want to move them out of the room unless necessary because of the way the drip system is set up.
If you check out pictures 3 and 4, you can see two of the same phenotype (I think these are actually Chemdawg), but in photo 3 is the one that started the weird stretching from the top cola and next highest branch, due to the heat, I believe. It has continued to stretch since, gaining at least an inch a week, and threatening to hit the lights. Photo 4 shows another plant that stretched a little bit from the cola, but not that much, and has stopped since I got the heat dialed in to the correct temperature range.
