currently HLG has some cheap QB's that im looking at, but the main thing I was wondering is.. has anyone here tried flowering under 5000k leds?

I can currently get [2x heatsinks and 2x QB's with 5000k spectrum] for $99 wich is a great deal, the next best deal is [2x heatsinks and 2x QB's with 4000k spectrum for $169],

but as im looking to buy 4 sets, this is of considerable extra cost and im wondering if paying extra for 4000k would be worth it or would I be okay being a cheapskate and getting 5000k spectrum for both veg/flower ?

I know lower spectrum is better, but im cheap and I feel like I can always add some supplemental reds later on?

whats are your thoughts ? =)

I wouldnt flower with 5000k but they should be fine for veg.. you may want to mix some 5000k boards with 3000k boards to give you an average 4000k (ideal would probably be a bit more 3000k than 5000k to be honest).. will it grow either way? Yes but using only 5000k.. the extra price you pay on lower kelvin will probably pay off in yield by itself..

I've flowered under 4000k qb304 and it was good. Never tried 5000k but I don't think I would flower with it. I'd be interested to see how it does in veg (maybe next to two more in 4000k).
