4X8 grow room lighting question

Clive is increasing the size of his grow room, he has a 4X4 and he uses a 1000 w HID light, he has built a frame and his new room is 4 feet by 8 feet, will his single 1000w HID be enough for the 4x8?

Nope.

So he uses a 1000watt for a 4x4 so if he now has a 8x4 which is double the space sooo..... Double the light. Imo

For HID a good rule of thumb is 50w per square foot. So ... 8x4=32 32x50w=1600watts. A bit more would be better.

I run 2x1000 in 9x5 tent. Its okay... i would like to have a bit more light. Or at least a better spread on that 2000 watts.

oh ok, thanks. Clive thinks he will just put his single light in the middle until his next harvest.
