I woke up and my plants were soaking in a puddle of lightly muddy soil. Damn !! I had to chop them early . I sprayed the plants off and got off most of the muddy looking parts but now i fear i will get bud mold because the plants are now dripping wet.

I NEED to find out what people think is the best way for me to dry my harvest.

 ALL INPUT WELCOME!!

Make sure u have really increased airflow and give ur buds a gentle like shake very now n then, this will remove the excess water.

hey can you help. i have 4 40 watt flourescent lights. my only question is if they will grow my plant up until the point of budding

Did you already chop them? They might have been saveable on the plant.

Literally go through your crop and give each individual plant as good of a shaking as it can handle. Then go through the normal stages of cutting, cleaning and curing. One note, if you can dehumidify during this stage it will help, and I would watch curing in sealed jars.

I have seen plants go through monsoons and recover. Remember, chopping it before a cleanse, doesn't help anything, your just going to smoke chemicles. Shaking the plants can get up to 80% or more of the water off of them. Its only stagnant because plants don't shake themselves. Air flow is key as well, but I assume if they were rained on, that it is an outdoor crop. Are you curing indoors? During the same rainy spell? If so, your air humidity will be soooo high, that curing will be moist and long anyway. Do you have a dehumidifier? This is much better than heat, overs or anyother such thing. Heat will help create the very mold you want to avoid! ! !

never tried it but wouldnt water cure be the way forward considering ya buds are already soaked? if not then a fan blowing in ya room, and gd air exchage. make sure ya buds are hanging up and not laying flat at all, keep a real close eye for mould and hope for the best, fckin weather :peace:

Ok I just read up on water curing. . . wtf. That sounds like the dumbest fucking thing I have heard in my life. So I completely soak the buds for a week, then dry them out? Whats the point of that, you add more water weight, and potential for molding, then have a longer dry time any way. Cured or uncured. Thats weird. Explain to me why this is a good thing, or am I the crazy one here? Wet buds always have lost potency in my experience(at least already cured ones that get wet again).

I think he meant water cure them. Keebee I would simply shake water off, hang in a well ventilated area, preferably with a dehumidifier and a fan. If you don't mind losing taste and aroma, you could water cure some, particularly any buds with dirt on them. Search the forums - there are posts on how to go about doing this but it basically involves soaking your buds in water for 7 days and then hanging them to dry. Soaking wet they dry in 24-48 hrs!

I agree with you good doctor water curing is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. Obviously you will lose potency, it's the same idea as a bubble bag, water breaks trichomes off. Not to mention people claim a 20% loss in weight lol... use your head people.

Water curing has been used by many growers, please don't be giving out misdirecting information if you've never tried it yourself.

Have you ever water cured and lost potency?

No, so please dont be acting like you know everything when you dont

Sorry bout the long silence. I went and cut them down then cleaned em up.

I have never heard of WATER CURING before but my green crack (one of my most frosty plants)was soaked so bad I went and tried it. I got him soaking right now.

I'm going to test this out and see how it differs.

I went and shook my plants to death and they got pretty dry so i added a fan in the hanging room and i'ma hope for the best. Do you know how to make a de-humidifier, or do you know how it works

water curing will lose trichs so shake them to fck instead roflmfao thats funny, when making hash u have to beat the fck ouuta the buda an leaves to loosen the trichs, they dont fall off , water curing actually results in a little less weight wen dry not more!! also frm start to finish of cure takes around a week, so its the same period as hang dry from crop, like i said have neber tried it but have smoked water cured buds and its a real thick creamy smoke that is the end result. gd luck keebee let us know how u gt on

hopefully they turn out half decent as it sucks to lose plants when you put lots of yime and effort into growing them!!

i smoked it all!!

I lost @ 5 oz's and got a total of 9oz pre-mature bud from 6 plants out door.

This was my first grow and i learned alot but i am so mad that i didn't get at least a pound.

I'm going indoors from now on. Is this wise? Whats the pro's & cons

pros are that you have complete control over your environment and most other variables. the cons are that you are limited in grow space and it costs a lot more money. Lights aren't free like the sun, HID's are expensive (and so is everything else you will need: exhaust fans, ducts, spare bulbs, PH & TDS meters etc..) and not to mention bump up your elec. bill a decent bit. (Mine went up about 60 bucks a month from my grow set-up and I'm only using a 400W HPS)
