Im going to b starting a new grow and was thinking of getting a new 600 watt but wasnt sure if heat issues would be a factor? My space is a 2ft x 3ft by 9 1/2 ft , or should i just stick with a 400watt?

I would reccomend the 600 as it has the best lumen/watt value, with an air cooled hood and the balast outside of the room you should be fine for heat.

its just a regular maxi wing and it being a digital ballast it shouldnt put a whole lot of heat off i have a 200cfm carbon filter with a 270 cfm fan so it should keep most of the heat pulled out with such a small area only 54 cubic ft ?

Well worth changing over, you'll be a believer after you see the difference in bud size & production.

For me, it seems both can be good but I will suggest you 600w because of there growing condition. I think you should be go for it and hope will be helpful for you. After that you can tell here about it. Well, do you have some pictures of the place where will you grow???

I have a 3 x 3 x 6 room and last year upgraded from the 400 to the 600. I've since bought the air cooled hood and a bigger fan to deal with the heat, but am very glad I made the upgrade. I also bought the dimmable ballast as in the summer, my heat is a bit high, so I'll either shut down for July and August, or I'll run @ 75% until temps get back under control.

You'll like the extra 200w I'm sure! Good luck mate!

I would definitely reccomend an air cooled hood. I bought a cheaper bat wing hood and now i cant even run my hps in my closet because the temps get up to over 30° and my plants start showing signs of heat stress within a few days
