400w for 2x4 space, to small? just enough

Planning on upgrading from CFL's but running the same tent. Will a 400 hps be enough for good coverage in a 2x4 floor space? I feel 600 may be tough to control with the heat with no a/c

I'd rather use 2 x 250w hps lamps, or 1 x 315w cmh in that area.

I think the 600 is overkill...at 8 square feet of space x 50 watts that puts you at 400 as a good wattage for your tent size. This article may help you...I used it when I was deciding on light size.

you should be ok your stretching on the 4 foot side though 400 hps 3x3 to3.5x3.5 coverage

that's what I ran for awhile and did well with it.

400 is fine as long as you can vent the heat. I have a 400w i use in a 4x4 and i certainly need to upgrade to a 600

I Grew the bud on my avatar under a 400 hps in around a 2x4. closet along with about 4 or 5 other plants. I would suggest doing a scrog style grow to get max yields though.
