400w DWC Grow - White Rhino - NY Power Diesel

Ok, I will be updating this thread with questions and pics. Check out the WR, which is on the left. The leaf part got stuck in the rockwool and so I got a stretching/curling affect. Not sure what to do with that one.

As for the Diesel, it was doing some stretching itself so I dropped the light 10 inches. the pictures show the light after I dropped it down.

Any thoughts/suggestions? This is my first grow.

Oh by the way, temps are between 75-84 F, humidity is around 30%, and the ph has been high 7.5+. I've been trying to get it down, but I'm still getting the hang of the PH up and down solutions. Diesel has been lower than WR when I've tested it.

Can someone give me advice onthe curly q? Should I prop it up or just leave it? Also, is it normal to have 2 stems coming out like that? I planted one seed.

You really need to adjust your ph levels. A max of 6.0 should be easy to get with about 12-15 drops of ph down.

Take pics of inside your buckets, also you may want to paint some buckets white or wrap with mylar?

Pics of your whole room set up etc, can be helpfull too.

Check out my set up.

I started with 3 drops of ph down, when I realized that wasn't working I began dumping a whole dropper at a time. I check once a day. Yesterday, after one dropper full the previous day I checked and it was 7.5 in each tub. Added another dropper full. Will update tonight or tomorrow.

As for the whole setup, that's about it. I guess I can take a pic from further back but it's not going to show much besides the full grow tent and some of the wiring.

what are the dimensions, how many air changes are you doing per hour? what are the temps/humidity in the room. do you use a constant blowing fan?

Check Rosemans guide

Dimensions are 3x4x7'. Not sure about air changes per hour. I have a computer fan blowing constantly w a passive intake. I have the metal halide light on 24 hours a day w a 6" online fan blowing whenever the light is on.

Temps are between 70-82. Humidity averages 31%.

so roughly you have 3x4 is 12 sq.ft. x 7 is 84 cu. ft. If you had a 100 cfm fan, you can air change the whole room in under a minute. I take it you 6" fan is at least 200cfm. It is usually good to bring in fresh air let it sit for a while, then exchange vs constant air change. However people get good results from both.

The biggest issue on your buds will be density, which is controlled by temperature and Co2. Try to figure a way to keep the temps under 75, unless you add co2. But you all in all you will produce good herb, if you keep them happy, you just may not pull the weight you wanted.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll get a timer for the computer fan, and I will think about some form of co2 regulation for my room. As Martha Stewart would say, dense buds are a good thing.

Hello all. I will be posting some updated pics tonight after work. I lost my sd card for my cam, and just barely got a replacement.

So the plants are doing good. I left the double plant (white rhino) alone and although the growth has been stunted a little and the stem on that curly one is weak, it is starting to come along. The curly stem had straightened out and is standing tall.

The nypd is doing very well. Has one node with a good number of leaves. The roots have come out from the bottom which has caused it to take off. I kept the water at 400ppm for a few days after the roots broke through, but I has since bumped it up to 800-900ppm. I will go up to 1300 after about one more week. I'm using fox farms grow big.

The roots on the white rhino have not broken out yet but I am expecting then to do so very soon. I'm excited to see what is going to happen with this plant since it is kind of a mutant.

The ph is down from the high numbers I reported before. It's about 6.5 as of yesterday and I dropped more ph down into the water. The nypd is responding well. The only real problem is that since it's a garage grow the temps are getting high. One day the high was 91, but lately the highs have been hovering around 82. I am thinking of getting a co2 regulator and a small ac system for the grow tent. I'm also debating whether I should go pick up a few clones that are similar in size to my plants. I'd love to put some blue dream into my lineup. I will post some root porn tonight. ;)

From May 23rd.

I may have mixed up the seeds, so if anyone can confirm one is definitely indica or sativa let me know.

So here are some pics of the white rhino. Notice the leaves have gone yellow and are dying. I have no idea why. Things it might possibly be: heat (temps are around 78-85), or possibly that I added ferts too early (currently at 400ppm). The NYPD responded well to ferts as soon as the roots hit the water, but the white rhino seems to be doing the exact opposite.

NYPD: I think these pics are just awesome. Can anyone tell me what adjustments may need to be made here. There's some slight yellowing and although the plant looks strong, the leaves seem to have a chalky texture. Notice the dryness in the leaf in the bottom right corner of the second pic.

So regarding the plant that is not looking completely healthy, does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

There wasn't a stunning amount of growth so I decided to take some up close pics of the plants just to give another perspective.

These pics are of the NY Power Diesel.

These are the White Rhino:

Here is a before and after of each plant:

NYPD

A strong plant from the start. Likes a high pH (6.3-6.7) PPM is 1200 as of today. The plant is strong and is responding well to fertilizers.

White Rhino

Not really sure what to make of this but I'm just gonna ride it out. Before and after is interesting.Seems to like a low pH. I'm still working with this one but as I lower the pH it seems to be getting better. pH was 5.5 on the last check which was today. PPM is 480. I have been waiting to up the ferts til the roots are stronger. It's been in the upper 400's for a few days now.

Looking good not trying to tell you what to do but you need to wrap those buckets in black ducttape probably twice. Those buckets let light in which will create algea in your res which you DONT WANT. Trust me you don't want to waste all that time for some root rot in a couple months...

Hey thanks for the advice. The one on the left which I think is white rhino (the double sprouter) have caught up the the nypd. Still the nypd looks healthier with dark green leaves and a nice compact structure. The white rhino looks like a mess to be honest. I may need To look up some pruning techniques. It's almost like that second sprout it a whole other plant they is growing from underneath the bigger one. I will post pics in the next few days

As promised, here they are:
Both together, notice the leaning. I figure I'll turn them this weekend.

This is of the one on the left which I think is White Rhino but they might have been mistakenly switched at birth. ;)
