400w CMH or 600w MH/HPS?

Im running 4 x 3.5gal coco hempys in a 4L x 4W x 6H room with an air cooled hood, no temp/vent issues and it's time to upgrade my X-brite 400w combo bulb (200w MH & 200w HPS) and home made ballast that has served me well through my initial grow.

Which light set-up do folks recommend and why?

400w CMH throughout or 600w MH for veg and 600w HPS for flower?

Cheers!

I'm using two 315w CMH in the 4K spectrum and my plants are liking them so far, no complaints other than quality light and not much heat.

What type of hood do you have. Mine is air cooled with glass I was just reading that the uv light of CMH gets blocked by the glass??

Looks awesome. What kind of 600?

Ultra Sun HPS with a mag. Ballast, I think its more important to pay attention to the plants, they will tell you what they need. the room is tight , clean, and ventilated properly, this particular run i'm using Dyna Bloom, and organic soil base

My plants are happy, rooms dialed in high 70s day - high 60s night w/ 40% humidity. OC+ coco/perlite hempy

I'm at three and a half weeks flower and I was hoping the buds would be a little fuller by now, Im happy with my nutes/mix/environment but think some more light would help

Another vote for 600w HID here.

Why? Experience mostly. Although there are some who use other lamps, in person I haven't seen anything compare to HID. Until I do, I'm sticking with what I know works.

Disclaimer: I veg with LED.

Elephant Bud: Rooted Cuttings go right to 18 hr room, then at 18", into the hps room .
Yours look great and they will start to really put on the weight by day 30 and through out
BTW when do start the day count? The day you flip or when flowers start showing?

These will concentrate on heavy flower production , the stretch is done, water and "watch them grow"
