hola guys! my auto just was harvested a few days ago and it's on to the next one now! Sure is good to be back on RIU running smoother than ever!!!

I decided to try out a few new methods to me this time around and see how I do with DWC, and a screen setup.

I will be vegging/flowering under 8x23 watt 6400k CFLs (184watts) as well as a 400 watt HPS.

I plan on using the FloraDuo series nutrients, along with cal/mag, and some molasses at the end. Hydro pH will stay around 5.8, while soil will be 6.4

White Widow - 5 GalDWC

Bubba Kush - 5GAL soil

Bubble Yum - 5GAL soil

Temps are around 77 degrees and humidity around 45%. Everyone please subscribe and join me on this journey hehe

bubba kush 18 days old

white widow 5 days old

and here's a picture of the trans Siberian harvest ;)

Hey bro if you don't have ac hooked up to your HPS you can get cheap intake fans to attach to it to bring the temps down. That's how I have mines because that's all I can no other option but works really well. I have one fan attached to one side blowing air through light and another exhausting on the other side with ducting attached to exhaust side to release hot air out the closet. Keeps temps 75-85 with lights on. Only other option I could think of was to have both fans exhaust heat out closet door. I guess that's the same what I'm doing now it's just more discrete cus the fans ain't showing. I paid 30 bucks a piece for my 8in fans very cheap metal ones does job. Only thing is your gotta cut a hole in the closet door to exhaust the heat but it beats have several of them. Just trying to point some ideas your way

yessir! that's exactly what I'm doing lol I'm going to get plywood from lowes and cut it and paint it white so I'm not drilling holes in my actual closet door! I have 10000 cfm worth of fans in there I just have to make it air right once I get the new setup

the way I had them it was blowing air through the cooltube into the attic but was still getting too hot my closet is small :(

Ok that's wassup. Great minds think alike!!! Lol but if you can deal with the heat exhausting in your room that would be fine. I should've thought of the plywood was thinking of putting a zip up tarp door up too but was in such a rush to grow again I just cut holes in the door :) :) lmao do you have fresh air coming into the closet too?? I have a small intake attached to the door to allow the cool air from my room into there is helps a lot it's only a 4in intake but I know if I would have put an 8in on the door it would really help. But as of right now I only have one 6in clip-on fan attached to the pot. Gonna add a wall mount circulating fan well she goes I'm flower

Ok so I said fuck all the temp issues I'm switching over to LED lighting. I can spend about 400 dollars on a new light and I'm down to two choices. Will any LED experts chime in?

I'm torn between the Blackstar 500 and the pro grow 260.

I will be upgrading to a 4x2x5 grow tent with Mylar walls, which would you guys suggest? I've seen good results from both.

Please keep in mind I will be doing a Screen of Green

I don't know about the Pro Grow but I've seen great results on here from people using the Blackstar so I say go with the Blackstar. I've also been thinking about upgrading to LEDs so I don't have to worry about heat either but there's no way I can afford one that's equivalent to a 1000w HPS. Maybe after I finish my Pineapple Express lol but can't wait to see you run something with whatever you get. That will help me decide

honestly man I can just invest as much in good ventilation with silencers and shit to keep it quieter than an LED would run.... and it would cool it down enough people run it all the time

don't know if I wanna make the switch anymore lol oh well we will see come payday

What's up with my Bubba Kush? purple stems, droopy stems..... it can't be overwatering I only water like once a week

Doesn't look too bad Patch but from what I see it looks like nitrogen toxicity too much nitrogen could be wrong but either that or pH problems. Just feed her plain water till she works back up then try a weak feed. How's the DWC plant going

Looking good bro yea I just found out my pot wasn't draining well and had a salt buildup. I'm sure that why I've been having the slow growth and pH swings. Hopefully this was the last issue but keep it up bro how's the bubba doing

doing great! I just topped "it" today hopefully it's a girl! the white widow had some nitrogen def so I just upped her nutes and she's doing great here's a pic.

I'll be starting a new journal soon with the WW under the LED light I'll link it in here

LED and grow tent came in the mail today! got everything setup temps are a steady 76 degrees in there. But I'm noticing some issues with my white widow in hydro, the lower leaves are turning yellow which I assume is from the nitrogen DEF, but I'm also getting spots on the higher leaves. I'm thinking pH lockout, solely because my mater broke the other day and until my new one came in today, I've just been shooting in the dark with my measuring.
