multi purpose compost with john innes, 600 watt hps, sorry new to this what is root bound?
When the root mass becomes too great for the container therefore limiting the potential of the plant. If there's a thick layer of roots at the bottom and around the sides of the pot, it's root bound.

Also, it's hard to tell from the pics, but it looks like you may have a triploid (spelling?) in there. Meaning three node branches as opposed to the usual two. It's an interesting mutation to say the least. With that being said, your plants should look much better considering the equipment you have. So something is wrong. But I think a lot of it is bad genetics, those plants don't look genetically ideal.

How far away is your light from the tops of the plants?

They've still got a ways to go, so time will tell. And roots coming out of the drain hole means they have nowhere else to go.

Theres no way theyll be rootbound in 11 liter pots.As for how long theyll take, add two weeks onto the breeders stated time and you wont be far off

if you dont mind me asking which plants did you have in them and how big did they grow?
I had a female bagseed from mids in a 3 gal her entire life, she grew no more than 2 ft tall and just looked stunted for the majority of her life. Some strains can handle 3 gal but whatever that thing was could not.

Those aren't Northern Lights. Looks like a Sativa dominant strain. Northern Lights are short stubby bush like plants. I've grown Nirvana's NLs in the past and yours don't look anything like the Indica dominate genetics of Northern Lights. Just say-in.

Other than that, looks like your lights aren't close enough or that 'root bound' thing. I don't know, I grow hydro.

I'm not hating here. And I don't want to discourage anyone from this interesting hobby. Like was said earlier, "But I think a lot of it is bad genetics"

Good Luck!
