the plants saw their first darkness (since i had to change from 20/4 to get some heat in the tent) last night. 12/12 from here on out. i gave them their first dose of bloom nutes with about a half dose of open sesame and watered the shit out of them. they are drinking a lot of water now and seem to be getting shaggy. i am hoping they grow vertically now that i have a larger percentage of bloom light and the 12/12 lighting. did a little super cropping too and the stalks are pretty sticky and smelly.

about 1 week into 12/12 lighting. unwittingly i think i have started a sea of green. have not had the balls to do it yet but i am contemplating doing a bit of pruning of the smaller branches to give the plant the ability to focus more energy on growing the bigger colas/branches. i have been reading quite a bit on the subject and there seems to be strong pros and cons for both 2000's porn and 70's porn as far as how bushy you should go. any input on my unique situation would be appreciated. btw-i have done very little bikini waxing on my first 2 grows and i get an assortment of bud sizes. i don't mind popcorn buds as i am in it for personal use. i am hesitant to trim one and not the other because of trimmers remorse...

trimmed out some of the undergrowth yesterday. watered with straight water 2 days ago. the plants looked like they had some areas to fill in after my pruning and today they have successfully filled in already. watered with gobox bloom nutes are full strength plus 4 tsp open sesame per 3 gallons of water. they seem to like the bloom nutes a lot. i changed the t5's to 3 3000 kelvin bloom lights with 1 10000 kelvin plus uv a bulb last night. i am swapping sides of the tent every watering and rotating the plants in place once or twice a day to try to even things out. up in the air about scrogging this time around. i know i am supposed to scrog while still in veg but the plants never got tall enough for my screens. i also would have a hard time getting them in and out of the tent when i have the screens. i need to think about how to attach the screens to the felt pots...

starting into my last week giving them open sesame. next saturday i am scheduled to start giving them beastie bloomz next week. i have read a bit about beastie and it sounds like a lit of folks find it is really hot. i think i will go easy with that stuff...

Will this be your first time using it?

yes. this is my first time using that trio. dogenzengi has had awesome results with cha ching so i figured i would try all three. i am looking for a more flavorful smoke. cha ching is supposed to promote oil production so i am hoping that helps. i also think i am a serial early harvester which probably does not help...

i started giving the girls beastie bloomz instead of the open sesame yesterday as it has been nearly 3 weeks of open sesame and i have a ton of bud sites. time to try to bulk up! i also trimmed (*holds hands and arms in front of face to avoid the angry onslaught of bashing for trimming) a bunch of stuff that was not going anywhere and supercropped some stretchy branches. i will post some more pis today or tomorrow. the flowers are about the size of a dime (on average)...

i flushed the shit out of the soil a couple days ago by showering the girls off in my shower. dosed again today with full strength of beastie bloomz. gave another light trim to get rid of a few more lower buds. the girls are looking pretty happy. i'll snap some pics tomorrow maybe.

watered each plant with approx a gallon and a half of aged tap water with about a tablespoon of unsulfured molasses and a half teaspoon of snow storm ultra mixed into 3 gallons of water(so very dilute). i used snow storm ultra my last grow but did not start using it until a few weeks before harvest. i am coming up on a month into 12/12 lighting and in reading ssu's directions, it recommends using it all through the growth cycle. ah, oh well. i missed that window of opportunity. i think i am going to ease into using snow storm with my thai girls. i have not seen any trichs yet on the flowers but hairs aplenty. no pics today. too lazy. tomorrow for sure.

here are some pics from today. leaf curl seems to be normal on these plants. doesn't matter if the pots are dry as dirt or soaking wet or anywhere in between. maybe that is the sativa in them. first plant was like this as well. any questions, suggestions or comments are appreciated and welcomed.

bought a couple more 2700 kelvin 23 watt cfl's this afternoon. so i have three 54 watt 3000 kelvin t5 bulbs, one 54 watt 10000 kelvin with uva t5, two 23 watt 5600 kelvin cfls, two 23 watt 2700 kelvin cfls and one 26 watt 2700 kelvin cfl. the girls look like they are stressing a little bit. i read that too much potassium can mimic ca deficiency and that is kind of what i am seeing. the beastie bloomz is supposed to be really hot in that respect so maybe i will back off when i give them nutes next(prolly tomorrow).

checked the ph of my water after adding the nutes and it was under 5.8. i am using ph paper so it is kind of approximate but that is too low i think. i used some wood ash and a touch of baking soda top bring it to around 6.5. this may explain why the girls are looking a little locked out...

watered the girls today. they need water every other day at this point and seem to be happily pouring their growth into the flowers. just starting to see trichomes.

gave the girls a good watering today with the showerhead then rinsed the un-aged water out with a gallon and a half each of aged(supposedly de-chlorinated) water with some molasses mixed in. starting friday with cha ching. changed my tent around a little bit too and put the cfl's all in the back so they are not partially blocked by the t5 fixture. wish i thought of that earlier...

i am about 6 weeks into 12/12 lighting. the 2 look remarkably different. one is a lot fluffier. i figure i have another 10-12 weeks of flowering. i am going to have to back off on the nutes a bit as i am getting some nute burn. this past week i did one feeding and 2 plain waterings. one of the plants is a lot more fluffy than the other. hoping that if i back off on the nutes, they will both be happier...

7 weeks into 12/12 lighting. last week, i did 2 waterings with straight water(well, ph'd and aged to allow the chlorine to evap) and one feeding. i am bringing the ph up with water from a bucket filled with wood ash from my fireplace and rain/snow water. the ph of that water is over 9. i was out of town for a couple of days and i swear the buds doubled in diameter. i think i am going to continue with the 2 waterings and 1 feeding a week. my fan leaves are pretty dark green so i may have made a mistake by giving the plants a bit of veg nutes a couple weeks ago. maybe not though. i also figured a way to get another bit of wattage in my tent. i now have 4 4ft high output (52 watt)t5 bulbs(3 3000 kelvin and 1 10000 kelvin with uva), 2 23 watt 6500 kelvin cfl bulbs, 2 23 watt 2700 kelvin cfls and 2 42 watt 2700 kelvin bulbs. for a total of 384 watts. i also have turned my dehumidifer on in my grow room and the tent humidity is now under 40. temps are getting to around 78 during lights on. the buds are getting heavy enough that i am going to have to support them. i trimmed some of the buds from under the canopy over the last couple of weeks. the dried stuff is a really interesting buzz. now the buds i am clipping are looking frosty so i am looking forward to smoking a bit of that too. time is going by too slowly. i have at the very least, another 7 weeks to go. i think i am going to have some monsters on my hands...
