300w soil grow - Bubblicious and Outlaw

So as with any of my journals please feel free to comment. I started my fifth organic soil grow. I use:
Apollo 400w adjustable digital ballast
Cool tube hood
2x can fan max 6" (max 334 cfm)
2.5x2x8 tent
Carbon filtration etc.
Organic fertilizers ( blood meal/bone meal etc) and premade super soil
Diatomaceous earth for bugs (only on top of soil) and bt bacteria as well for watering
I never use premade liquid ferts, my organics have always been amazing with regular fertilizers.

Ferts:
Bloodmeal, bone meal, worm castings, epsom, fish emulsion, kelp meal (liquid) and a new one Ill be trying: langbeinite (0-0-22)

Seeds: nirvana bubblicious and dutch passions outlaw

I have grown these seeds before in my last grow. Bubblicious gets enormous buds and outlaw gets POTENT buds. I am using simple plastic grow bags (5 gallon) and have been vegging about 70 days (from seed). I plan to flip soon after I get my overwatering adjusted and they also are recobering from a short amoujt of heat stress (kelp given).

The vegged girls are dense and only about 17" (bubblicous) and 20" (i started them in 3 gal grow bags). I pulled clones since these were my last seeds :/ i have always been very happy with my Dutch passion seeds, they are as good now as they were in 1999. their orange bud is VERY good.

I was running 400w in the tent but that much light and heat is just unecessary and harder to adjust temps in my region, even in flowering so I have it at 300w and the girls seem really happy with it (when not overwatered). I will be scrogging this run, and maybe lollipopping them as well.

I usually grow in open rooms but am trying a tent, ventilation was very finicky at first but after replanning everythings location with the scrubber in the tent at top it is cooling way more efficiently than the scubber outside the tent. This was required to get proper negative pressure and temperatures. (typically 75). Pics to post later. Thanks for stoppin by!

I use a switchable 250-400w. Galaxy ballast I like to veg under the 250 & flower with the 400 are you gonna post pics? I just popped a th- seeds mk ultra X bubblegum seed for my next grow

Bubblegum was the strain I originally wanted but it was expensive so lucky you ;)

Nirvanas bubblicious gets enormous tho-serious yielding

Yes, I will post pics prolly tonight. Thanks for checkin it out-I have an old grow journal in here showing my nycd and ssh grow a few years ago.

How does everyone take their ambient temperatures in the grow? I use one and keep it in the shade under the plants (next to the stem) since the meter is not supposed to have direct light...so how does everyone check their temps at the canopy without giving direct light to the thermometer? Handheld Infrared meters?

half dose of fish emulsion and a very, very light feeding of water and they are feeling better, they have soaked up most of the extra water in the bottom (shoulda used my smart pots and not plastic grow bags-or punched more holes in them before i started)
Still in week one flower, ill be setting up screen for scrog since outlaw is so stretchy and I only have two in a 2x2.5. I side dressed with fish bone meal (nitrogen for the 3 week+stretch), crushed volcanic rock dust and langbeinite, my first watering since overwatering will include a little neem oil to finish off the fungus gnats early. My gnatrol is a little slower in the life cycle so the neem should finish the job well.

Set up scrog yesterday, i use gardening trellis netting with 4" spacing and its plastic so its very easy to cut and remove later. Ive never scrog'd Bubblicious but I have seen others do it sucessfully. Outlaw, like a lot of hazes (super haze, super silver haze, outlaw) respond well to scrog at the benefit of me. :P They both have taken off, pistils have been showing before I went into flower (both were at maturity) so these girls are ready. Both were allowed to veg at 72 days so I am hoping it will yield well. Now for the long wait. I will post some pics later in the week. Fungus Gnats are gone.

Scrogging in process: end of week 1 flower

Stiil tucking ranches for the next week or so then Ill let them finish out, i did not do any topping at all and kind of changed plans last minute. I have the vertical room but want an even'ish canopy

Since I set my scrog up late it's not gonna work as well BUT I still have several feet of vertical room so I'm gonna let them finish stretching. (They are pulled down to 22") They are at their 2nd week (12 days actually) of flower and looking good! Ive been giving a supplemental liquid kelp meal to my super soil every other watering and will continue till two weeks before finish for each of them. Of the clones I took day before the switch two bubblicious clones made it to root but outlaw is proving to be difficult for cloning so far (roots are taking longer than normal to form?). I have been using "liquid clonex" with very good success the last few years.

I've done some of nirvanas bubblicious and it turned out spectacular I even have a grow journal on here from it. I have a new journal I'm starting today I just threw 9 seeds in jiffy pellets. 2 of nirvanas white widow 2 of nirvanas white rhino and 2 of nirvanas chrystal I also have blue cheese, Nicole kush, and critical mass from various companies in aswell. Good luck in flower man!

Thank you! Yes, my last bubblicious (last year) was very stout, very productive but the flavor was almost less than palatable-uli think I pulled a week or so too early then. They are now at the end of week three and looking fantastic, plenty of vertical room and great growth! These are the latest, bubble on the left, outlaw on the right.

End of week 4 roughly...these babies are doing excellent with good resin production beginning. Four weeks for bubblicious to go still so they should fatten over the weeks. Seven weeks left for the outlaw...showing resin production well though. Some yellowing was occuring at the bottom of both but it was attributed to lack of light and was hastily treated with a small dose (50% concentration) offish emulsion. I didnt add any supplemental blood meal at flower start, on the Langbeinite and Bone meal, which kicked in around week 3. ***Wear a good dust mask for this step*** DE (diatomaceus earth-food grade) has successfully killed all fungus gnats between waterings. A small pepper jar filled with DE works very well for dusting below the plants AFTER you water (wait about 30 min before applying DE so it doesnt not absorb too much water). I found this to work very fast...basically overnight. I have been watering a half gallon every 3 days currently. They are reaching for the sky!

Week 7 going on week 8. Both plants look great and are packing in the trichs. Bubblicious might be ready in 2 weeks or less but since flowering began after the 12/12 flip Im just watching closely. Outlaw still has some time to go. Both are thinning leaves (yellowing and dropping) outlaw started at week 4 but both are dropping slowly. Ive been sticking to kelp full strength wth watering and they smell and look awesome. Pics later. Bubblicious has a very sweet scent and outlaw is still developing its floral scent.

The ladies are plumping up nicely!

Bubblicious got a trich check about 4 days ago and still has 1 week or so to go, trichs were still clear and i want some amber. Very frosty plant and a lot less leafy than my first pheno grown from seed. I read quite a few complaints about leafiness and experienced it before. I cut back on certain nitrogen sources this time in my supersoil AND let it run veg 72 days plus im using langbeinite for the first time (0-0-22, slow release sand form takes about 3 weeks to kick in) Im very happy with my flowers this run!

Outlaw is fattening up and building calyxes like no tomorrow but still has 2-3 wks to go. She may need more support as she gets top heavy. I definitely did not flower this one long enough last grow and it was powerful so this girl should be stellar.

Both are getting plain water now (half gal each every 3 days or so in 5 gallon bags). i stopped kelp feeding a week ago.
