For those in the USA, Lowes home centers have Utilitec 300w equivalent spiral cfl bulbs. 2700k, 3900 Lumens, 65w draw. In stock, in store for $7.72 each. Yes, they're big at 9.5 inches long. Still tho, they sell Sylvania's half the watts (150W equivalent-2700k) spiral cfl bulbs for $10.98 each. I wanted more warm light during flowering but didn't want the clutter of 6 smaller cfl bulbs I'm gonna hang three 300w bulbs around my 1000w BestVA led panel to increase warm light during flowering. Maybe the 150 watt Sylvania cfl bulbs are more expensive because they're smaller, compact sized.

Some say 150w 2700k bulbs have better light specs. I could have used three twin sockets with six 150w bulbs costing $66. I'm OK with three 300w bulbs costing $23.

Sometimes you just find great deals and it dont make any sense. Lower wattage cfls like the 23watters run better lumen per watt compared to bigger 45w 65w cfls. But the big ones are really bright! I have 4 65 watters that i dont use anymore

I assume being really bright is okay? They're in a 3x3x6 tent. What to you mean by smaller wattage bulbs "run better" ? More efficient energy wise per lumen?

I'm not dead set on three 300w cfl's to augment my led panel. I asked that question a week ago or so and didn't see any replies (about getting 300w...better?). I could still get 3 twin sockets and put in 6 150w cfls at increased cost (double the cost). Doesn't it all kinda equal out?

Might get better light spread with twin sockets? You've got me thinking.

Pineapple Express is what I'm growing. Just one plant. 8 spears growing . Anyways...here's a pic with the 300W cfl's augmenting this 1000w $139.00 burple BestVA LED panel. I'm wondering if maybe I could get better light spread with six 150w in twin sockets hanging similarly to how they are now. Is it worth twice the cost? Worth the bother?
