Ok so I'm gonna have 3 of these outside in full sun. Gets pretty toasty where I am 90's-100's thru august. Almost zero humidity. Strains are afghan x big bud, cataract kush, and kong . I got 3 thirty gallon plastic barrells, so how big should my res be on these babies? Should I do the 2 inch from bottom? Or more? Barrell is two foot diameter and about two foot tall. Thanks for any input

The deepest hempy bucket I've used was a 5 gal which is only about 13" deep and it took a long time for the roots to hit the rez and for the growth rate to get kicking, I no longer use more than 10" of medium depth. As far as hole height even with a 3.5 gal bucket (9 1/2" of medium) the hole is 2" up. And growing a monster outdoors it would take 1 1/2 gals a day. I think you could go to 3" up, but I wouldn't go much more, you still want a quick usage of the rez.

Thanks for the reply watt. Plants are gonna be about 3 1/2 to 4 foot when they go in the 30 gallons. Damn near every inch should be around 3/4 gallon. So two inchs would get them through the day. Boy better not miss a day or they might fry lol.

I occupy a space on the western slope, and with a mature plant (beat up mom), I ran an outdoor 3.5 gal bucket on the deck and kept it under 4' with bucket, and pulled over 10 oz . A bucket with a 2' dia could be epic.

As far as temps, Things don't get dicey until October.
