I finally got around to ordering the parts for my new lights, and had the day off so this is what i got so far. I have been playing with the idea of making a more encolsed unit, going for nice and clean look with less wires. Finally came up with this idea, cutting an aluminium level in half and mounting the heatsinks between them. With this design, i should be able to keep adding rows if i decide to add more leds and idk maybe the aluminium will aid in the cooling, plus the level was free and broken and i have plenty of them.
The holders are ideal 50-2303cr
heatsink usa 4.9"x7"
My driver and fans are on the way
The leds are cxa3590 cb 5000k

Yes it is, i have just become aware that there is a lower voltage option and havnt gotten to reading about them. I assume more driver options for the other voltages?

Finally got my driver and fans. The fans are12v .29amps 48cfm. I wasnt sure about the size of fan i should get so i guessed. I have to grab a 12v power supply for them. I also have a question before i wire the leds to the mw 120h c1050a...i should be wiring the leds in parralel with a cc driver correct? Just want to make sure before i F this up. Also want to know if i can take apart the 12vpower supply for the fans and connect it to my ac input along with the driver so i only have one plug coming out of my light. Instead of one plug for led power supply and one plug for fan power supply. I am already thinking of rewiring my 3070s on artic 11s, they look messy, but work great.

Since I am using 2 fans 290ma, and a 12v 1a power supply, this should be wired in series. Right?

Just to save you some drama, till someone knowledgeable arrives,

Multiple cobs in series on your CC driver.

You can split the two ac supplies at a junction box, ie. one lead from the wall.

I'm pretty sure the fans can be run in series?? if that's what you want to do

....for my pov the fans run in paralel...

...in series we sum volts... in paralel we sum amperes...

...ie... 2 fans 12 V 290 mA in paralel... 12 V 580 mA...

....but its only my inexpert opinion...

saludos

yeah right, you like your salmon, ur names not Sal :eyesmoke:haha.
what would happen if you wire 2 fans in series on 12V /CV power supply salmonetin?

....im not expert on electronics...but i think to depend on voltage of fans... for my eyes you can run on series 2 of 6v fans too... or not?...;)

...depends on amperage on 12 v driver too... ...and the protections on the driver side too...my inexpert opinion...

...sorry my bad and short english...

...pd... i always connect the fans in paralel... i never tried the series connection on fans too...;)

saludos

I also have a question before i wire the leds to the mw 120h c1050a...i should be wiring the leds in parralel with a cc driver correct? Just want to make sure before i F this up. Also want to know if i can take apart the 12vpower supply for the fans and connect it to my ac input along with the driver so i only have one plug coming out of my light. Cobs go series on the power supply mw 120h c1050a
MW HLG-120H-C1050A gives 74V ~ 148V may not be a perfect match
cxa3590 cb 5000k Vf aprox 76volts x2 in series = 152 Volts...

Fans go in parallel. In parallel if one fails the other still works. In series the airflow will be lot less but they will operate more silent.
Whats your power supply for fans? What fans are these 12v .29amps

Well it looks like i misread and got the wrong driver or the wrong voltage leds to be powered by thos power supply. There are not many power supplies that will power two 77v 3590s. Maybe i will power each led separately if i cant find another driver.

Ok i guess i am going to build another light sooner than i expected. I am going to look into what 3590s i can drive with this driver and order two and probably drive these separately.

What about these? My driver should power two of these, right? I really appreciate any help. If these work i will order them today and get on with this build. I am going to be using this light in a rdwc grow that will be my first led only grow. Im pretty excited, beans are already soaking and will go under my rw150 to start, and 5 gal bubble buckets until my pump for the rdwc arrives.

Or i guess i ahould be looking at cxbs because they are 72v...72+72=144 so my driver should work except i would be driving them pretty soft at 1050right?

Your driver will work just fine. The Meanwell datasheet shows the overvoltage protection (hiccup mode) activates at 165-175v. You may see a negligible decrease in amperage. It's well below the overvoltage protection at only 6 volts over the driver's 148v spec.

Finally full steam ahead. Got my 2 site rdwc going with two autos under only leds, finally going to see what leds can do by themselves. I know i should get a chiller, but i did a 5gal dwc and had res temps 75 the whole time and did just fine running hydrguard. Finally got roots popping out the bottom, first time ever starting from seed in hydro and rockwool. Air temps are 74/75 lights on. Whole system is 41 gals when full. Currently using gh flora line and using lucas formula, only at 1/8 strength right now. Water is tap ph 7.4 and almost 400ppm. I am using gh hardwater micro to deal with that and no cal mag. We will see what the future brings but new growth so far is looking up, had several roots pop out from the hydroton in the last several hours. Still handwatering. Using an inline 350 mag pump only for aeration.
