2nd try...noob.... initial water level question

What's up guys, I have a quick question on how how the initial water level for my freshly germinated seedlings... it seems on the first round I fried my babies because the water was too low so I'm back for a second round....
My babies r only a day old and I have the water even with the gorw medium to where the the air bubbles actually pop out of the top of the perlite....

Is this good?? Don't wanna drown these lil guys!!

My DWC works best as new seedlings the grow medium on the top of the water, just enough so that the water wicks up to the root bearing medium. You did not say if you have rooted in RW or RR or peat cubes...once the main roots shoot off and down the water level can obviously lower as the roots will be in the water and the upper roots will be obsorbing oxygen as well as the roots in the bubbler.

Well I have no access to RW where I live although I think walmart just put out some peat cubes... I put the germinated seeds directly into the perlite.... it actually wokred last time but as stated the water was too low.....

Ugh I actually "lost" my best looking seed...as in it actually disappeard.... I'm guessing it sank in the perlite but even after digging out the bucket I could find it....wth?!! I'm gonna germinate a free crisital hog I got from attitude.... this better work!!

Buy a medium online. Like Rapid Rooters, or Rockwool.

Or get them at Wal-mart.

I usually put the water level right under the netpot and put an inch layer of medium down(so I can see the water bubbling still) and then I put the rockwool on top of that, but you could use any other starter cube.

Can I use jiffy cubes in hydro? About all i can get my hands on at the moment....ugh

Wouldn't see why not, just peat moss I think.

hmmmmm..... lemme do a lil research on the subject lol......

meh looks like it could work but makes a mess in the end when the root grows out of the cube and the peat comes out into the system.... I'm gonna try Spharunm moss - just a little in the middle of the perlite so my babies don't disappear anymore....

so i'm soaking the sphragnum moss in water and bleach fort 30 mins and will flush it out and dry it?? or will the flush be ok u think?
