2nd time growing. General changes and ideas!

Iv just sprouted 3 white widow big bud seeds and they are on day 3 now in soil, looking good 3/4 inchs high now and the first set of leafs on the way out. Im going to be feeding with cal mag and general hydro grow (Around 1/3 strength) When would you go full strenght im thinking the 2nd week veg i want to start feeding full. Then at 4/5 weeks start with grow and micro. I just dont want to burn them. Veg under a 300w cfl dual spectrum.

I vegged for 6 weeks on my first one and thought it could do with longer, i wasnt using proper nutrients at the time so it was around 2ft going into flower. Using the same light for flower as i did veg 300w cfl. This time around iv got a 600w led, could i veg for less time now aswell as im going to swap once its in flower.

Thats it for now could be more as i continue. Any help will be apreceated thanks.

I never go full strenghth on nutes, maybe nort of 3/4 strenght i consider full.

Try coco in milk crates or baskets lined w weed block fabric, like u put under mulch...really breathable! Really easy up potting too. Roots love it, never vet root bound never get overwatered...

with the 600w led your veg time will come down for sure. Just veg your plant until you are satisfied with the size of the plant compared to your growing space. Make sure you leave lots of head room for your buds.

Im using the 300w clf for all of the veg cycle to keep running costs down, its overkill at the moment, i did veg and flower with it on my first grow and for veg its fine putting off 6000/7000 lumens per sft, and 6500k and i think 4000k light colour! Maybe 3500 but makes no odds, i did struggle abit for flower so the led is aupgrade for that.

Would they be ok to start veg in soil as thats what its in now, on the transplant put it into coco, iv seen some videos about coco and it seems to be highly recomended

I do have a scrog net, so im just going to bend most of the growth around that leaving 8/10 inchs gap between the scrog and the top of the pot so i can get some air running underneath

Check the advert for the LED or link it here. Make sure the true wattage is higher than the CFL your using.
Some of those "600w" grow lights are only 130w, which would be a lot less than you thought and possibly under perform in flower.

BTW I like the user name!

Coco is technically hydro so you should feed every watering. You are robbing your plant of nutrients just plain watering it.

Not my experience. Water-feed-water.
Well if you need to, tone the nutes down so you can feed every watering. You wouldn't fill a hydro Rez up with nutrients and water part of the day and then dump it out later and put plain water in it later and repeat the next day would you??
I'll go ahead and add the only time you should plain water is if you're flushing trying to get rid of salt buildup

Never said you couldn't get a good grow if you don't feed every watering? Lol just sayin, if your gonna grow hydro, treat it like hydro not soil. DUH. Read up on it, there's a very strong following of people that feed everytime. Lol what is your plant feeding on when you give it no nutes? The coco? Lol. Comon mate! Bottom line is you are not at full potential.

P.s. I see your big grows have too much N :bigjoint:

Not tryin to be a dick but it really makes no sense to use plain water in coco mate. I love friendly arguments bongsmilie

My understanding was coco is a bit of a blend of hydro and soil... like a hybrid system. I thing there are folks that grow in it more like hydro and others more like soil and both successfully...

The fast response to changes is my favorite thing about it... when I was in promix (gag now) if I noticed she needed something it was wait till it was dry or risk overwatering symptoms... not anymore! :)
