So I've reused my soil twice now and decieded to make it into supersoil, I thought the hell with it and made a big batch of it this time. Based loosely off of subcool's Super Soil mix and give it a little TKO twist:
  • 6 approxamently fifteen gallon bags of high quality Organic Re-used 50/50 blend FF Ocean forest and Happy frog,
  • I also bought a compressed 2 cu. foot of promix and one 1 cu. ft. bag of organic pro-mix + mychorise to help jumpstart the process.
  • 30 pounds of Organic Earthworm Castings ( wiggle worm brand I beleive)
  • approx. 2 pounds of homemade earthworm castings, with maybe 100 worms in the mix too...from re-used soil with existing worms
  • .5 cubic foot bag of ancient Forest alaska humus
  • 8 lb bag of Buffaloam Composted buffalo manure (1-1-1)
  • 3/4 large bag of coarse #4 perlite (Approx 3 cu. ft.) not pictured
  • one 1 cu. ft. bag of coco coir crutons
  • 2.5 pounds Dr. earth Fish bone meal (3-18-0)
  • 2.5 pounds happy frog Steamed Bone Meal (3-15-0)
  • 2 pounds of Miracle Grow Blood Meal (12-0-0)
  • 3 pounds of Encap Blood meal (12-0-0) not pictured
  • 4 pounds of Happy Frog Bloom Bat Guano ( 0-5-0)
  • 3lbs. Dr. Earth Rock Phosphate (0-2-0)
  • 1/2 cup Epsom Salt Local Brand
  • 1 1/2 cup Growmore Dolomite Lime
  • 2 cups General Hydroponics Rare Earth
  • 2 Cups of Glacial rock dust
  • 4 cups of Diatomaceous earth (insect dust)

I mixed and mixed and mixed yesterday till my arms were sore, I had a friend who helped me and he said he was sore too. I decided that I needed to water in everything and did so with 10 gallons of r.o. water mixed with, simple sugar's, hygrozyme, and ewc tea. I realized that some of the water was not fully saturating to the bottom of the pile so I let it sit after watering. Then we went inside, burned a doobie with my helper, ate some muchie food :bigjoint:and came back out about an hour later with my friend for more hand tilling. We probabily turned the pile 1 more good time by hand... Then he saw my rototiller!!! BINGO I tilled with my tiller for about 10 mins before I caught a whiff of exhaust and then I turned the tiller off. I tilled again 1 more time today by hand. and then loaded it into my two 32 gallon composting trash cans. I still have prolly another 2 more garbage can's worth of T.K.O. Super soil yet to shovel. But alas I'm outta can's so the rest will stay on the tarp in my garage till I can find more trash can's. I approximate 120 gallons of TKOs Super Soil.

Let me know if you have any comments or suggestions for me as it was just mixed today, If I missed anything you consider vital let me know!

Took a quick look, I suggest you dump the bloodmeals/dolo lime/epson salts and replace with alfalfa meal/kelp meal/oyster shell flour/ gypsum imo

and maybe if you have some $$ laying around an electric cement mixer from hd /lowes will help with 120+ gallons of soil mix

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Proforce-1-2-HP-Portable-Cement-Mixer-105890DPT/202081851 I still stare at it when I'm in the store........lol

good luck sandy
I was going to add the kelp meal but ran outta money at the store and I had plans of ordering powered oyster shell just never got around to it. I would love a cement mixer although I highly doubt I'll need to mix more supersoil till next spring, I was also thinking about alfalfa meal, but decided against it since I couldn't even afford the kelp meal at the time. And why do you suggest the gypsum what are the benefit's of adding gypsum? Epsom salts ...obviously why add salts... I figured the little I added wouldn't hurt that much...can it?
