2nd attempt at PC grow - bubblegummer

My 1st attempt at a PC grow failed because I had trouble with sprouting the seed. So, this is my 2nd attempt at a PC grow.
Here is the breakdown of my grow:

• strain: X-line BubbleGummer (aka female bubblegum)
• lights: (3) 23W Sylvania 6500K CFL's for a total of 4350 lumens
• soil: fox farm ocean forest
• light cycle: 20/4

Here is breakdown of the grow so far:

• Aug 18th - started seed in wet paper towel
• Aug 20th - planted seed in soil (NOTE: I used MiracleGro because I didn't have any other soil)
• Aug 22th - seed sprouted
• Aug 24th - seedling didn't look strong so I covered container with saran wrap to create a humidity dome and watered
• Aug 26th - removed humidity dome and transplanted into new container with fox farm ocean forest soil and watered

Attached is a picture of day 6 of the seedling. I thought I would be fine using MiracleGro but quickly discovered that to be false. Just in the past 48 hours after transplanting into the fox farm I can tell a big difference.

Not sure what fans you're using(if any), but make sure you keep track of the RH and temp. Lights may not give off a lot of heat to you, but without proper ventilation it's going to get hotter and hotter. Only mentioning it because the leaves are pointing almost straight up which is something my plants did when I had heat issues.

Hmmm..thanks for pointing that out. I have 2 intake fans, 2 exhaust fans and 1 fan blowing across the lights. The temp has been around 82-84 fahrenheit. I think after this grow, I may replace all the fans with some new ones as the fans are probably about 6-8 years old.
Any suggestions for a small, digital, compact gadget to read the temp and humidity? Right now I'm using a generic 2$ tempature guage.

A cheap alternative I used was buying a temp/humidity gauge that was meant for a cigar humidor. Cost me about 12 bucks for a circle one about the size of a half dollar, its small and one watch battery has lasted me almost 4 months. Might not be the 'best' but its done me right. Hope that helps!

I dont think fox farm is good for seedlings.. i read that it will burn seedlings it has lots of nutes in the soil..

I use an acu-rite temp guage that has a hydrometer as well. Got it for like 6 bucks at wal-mart. As far as FFOF(light warrior and frog are fine) it's usually fine for seedlings, although it does have a chance to burn. A lot of people usually cut it with light warrior/pearlite/happy frog.

Any advice on how long I should let this veg for?

Its dependent on the strain. I had a fruity chronic juice seedling get burned but two Dinafem blue widows and one ghs trainwreck suffered nothing. I cut the fox farm with 25% sphagnum moss.

Veg until you feel it's right. Just remember plants can double sometimes triple in height during the flowering phase. I've seen journals where PC growers have had better success rate 12/12 grow from seed and dwarf auto flowering strains. It's really up the Grower to determine the vegative time period. It's your grow.

Just an update on where I am. I purchased a digital acu-rite thermometer and humidity reader. So today marks 2 weeks into veg and I plan on doing some LST with SCROG. I'm a bit unsure about the LST because the plant seems to be really bushy and not so much stretchy.
Any advice?

I was unable to attend to my plant for 3 days. I watered right before I left and came home and discovered that the biggest leaves had curled up and dropping down on the soil.
I gave her a nice drink of water so hopefully she bounces back from this.
I don't plan on adding a 4th CFL for this grow since the power strip I'm using only has room for 3. My average temps are 82 - 76 and humidity is 46% - 37%.

I'll get some pics soon. I just discovered something strange with my PC grow box. I had my seedling proped up on a small cardboard box in the PC to help minimize stretching. Well yesterday, I removed the cardboard box and moved the plant down the floor and now my temps are reading between 86-88 degrees.
The only thing I can think of is that the cardboard box was forcing the air from my intakes up towards to top, thus cooling the PC down.

So did u top or lst? I topped and lst'd my 3 bubblegummer and with a 4 week veg they are SUPER bushy
