yup, that's the vid that sold me. chiller setups can vary. if i had the money, i would get an external one that looks like a home air conditioner unit
Most of their units look like home AC units; some look like window bangers, others like central AC.

I have two 2 Ton ChillKing window units. They were made from Frigidaire AC units. The main difference is that instead of a fan blowing room air through the evap coil, the chiller uses a coiled length of copper tubing with the Freon line running inside. Pass water through the coil (external pump required) and voilá! Cooling anywhere you care to run water lines!

Added bonus; the units are themselves 30% more efficient due to chilling a more thermally dense medium than air.

I've even kept my chiller indoors over winter and used the rejected heat to keep my house warm- in Colorado, all winter, while my gas bill stays in the twenty dollar range.

Look, you have all the disadvantages of both systems, and none of the upsides. But run it how you want it.
i don't see what disadvantages you are pointing out. my area is sealed and the temps are controlled.

I have my chillers set up to blow hot air out of the house. ambient outside temps are going to reach the upper 90s in a few months.

having a window banger is not an option in my neighborhood.

but really, what do you mean by disadvantages?

Meh. Don't waste your time bro. He's one of those dudes that just trolls the RIU. No life. No friends. No grow. Just a trollin for attention. ;-)

Probably can't even afford to smoke. No job, no life, no friends, self mates, surely you get the picture. In other words, doesn't have the social skillz to participate normally, so adapting anti social skillz gets em the attention it needs. :hump:

Kinda sad really. But not for me though. :bigjoint:

anyways, LOL, i'll put some pics up tonight of the hermies so that others may identify males.

this is a necessary skill folks, and i'll be damned if i can't help :P :)

Right. Started my own grow consulting business. Go find my thread.

Took a break, haven't smoked in months.

If that's all you can say, save your breath.

Back to the grow; I live right up the road from Surna, the company that bought out Hydro Innovations, and THEY don't recommend you do it this way anymore.

Your table full of clones looks good.

But I don't know shit...

i don't have a problem with you, just the way you critique. it wouldn't hurt to be a little more constructive, i hope you do not consult in this fashion.

Did you buy your Icebox new or used? As far as I know, they haven't sold them for years now, they've been selling complete air handlers instead.

I didn't have the money for those, so I cobbled some up with junkyard radiators and window fans. They work almost as well for a tiny fraction of the cost.

I didn't want to use any junkyard parts for fear of oils and coolant that may get onto my girls. I thought about getting small oil coolers from the auto parts store, but in the end, with the work done, it would have not costed that much less.

The hydroponics store close to me was able to track the third one down, and the first two I got at a discount due to a return. Very fortunate.

I briefly read the first page of your grow, very interesting. I have temperature and noise issues I have to deal with. You have much more freedom in your state.

Hermies first 3 pics. Makes tend to grow taller, faster.

Typical female last pic.

I cleaned the radiators, no worries.

The main problem with the little icebox cooling units is that they're so little they don't cool or dehuey spaces of any size effectively. If you can get something larger it will handle both temps and RH in a sealed room much more effectively. This is why Surna now sells the larger air handling units exclusively- they provide better performance and they get fewer customer complaints.

I'm glad it's working for you in your setup, don't get me wrong. Is your room sealed? If so, how are you supplementing CO²? If not, then simply dumping that hot air out- through a carbon filter if needed- will save you beaucoup bux on cooling costs, and then your chiller can concentrate on dehuey.

I'm just trying to save you some money... I've been right where you are, and I have a box full of Iceboxes to show for it, lol.

Lol, it's sealed, and my co2 comes in tanks. The air is recycled with said co2. Dumping the air from the lights, well, I've never had good luck on sealing the hoods. It really hasn't costed me much more to run these makeshift chillers.

The humidity is on point. 55 to right below 60.

Temps are 85 when lights are on, below 70 when off.

Killer! I was trying to control a big room with small air handlers, and it seems you don't have that problem. Glad to see it working out so well for you.

Next setup, I'm getting real chillers. No need for AC at all. I usually spare no expense, be even if I spent the cash on a big chiller, it's just too much to put at the current spot.

Looks like you're a little sensitive eh bro? Talk about thin skin. Ttystik's replies were nothing but informative. Sometimes the truth just kinda hurts and the only way to get a point across is to tell it like it is. Bullshit. Which is pretty much anything from HI. Hydro Innovations is essentially DIY contraptions unmarked by roughly 1000%

Thanks for the biased opinion. There seems be be a lot of that around here. He did not provide too much info at first, only the fact that he had knowledge.

If you read through the thread, you'd probably act less than a shit head.
