So what are you guys using for a timer do you have where the wire feeds in ties into a timer and then from the timer going to plugs to run the lights? Also are you guys having to pig tail in order to run multiple plugs or is there a 220 plug that has 2 ends one for wire coming in and one for wire going to next plug. I do HVAC so electric guys show me the light please lol I know how to hook shit up just not familiar with what's out there. Trying to make this space to look clean and professional as possible. 30 amp breaker style plug not stove or dryer style plug.

If you do HVAC you should be familiar with contactors.
Pick up a 240V contactor with a 120V coil instead of the 12 or 24V that is usually used at the AC compressor.

the two wires feeding the coil are the hot and the neutral. Wire up a standard 120v cord to that 120v coil and plug that into a standard digital wall timer to turn on and off the lights.

the line and load will be the 240V. I sometimes feed a breaker panel via a larger contactor and wire up outlets for lights off the panel. This is how I’ll do it if there isn’t a light controller like what gavita has for their lights nowadays.

So with that box my only thing im not so sure of is if I ran 8 plugs for him would you run it in 12/2 since its for 120 or would u want to run it in 10/2 with 120 plugs either way I just want to make sure he's not going to overload his shit with what he's wanting to do he has 6 lights for now plans on getting 2 more and wants make sure its not going to burn his place down. So with what I was thinking figure out a timer to tie into and feed 220 off it and run what he's got now and when he gets the other 2 later he just plugs up and is good to go.

He has 2 600w leds 2 800w leds and 2 630 cmh plans on going to all diablo xs come fall and they run at 3A on 220 why I ran him a 10/2 on a 30A im just trying to make this work until he can get what he wants cause I feel like that would handle that no problem especially with 2 lights coming on at a time then other 2 come on a min later til their all on.
