2024 Grow Journal

I've been growing on and off for 15 years, making this season the longest hibernation of not growing since I've started, 2.5 to 3 years. Still retained all that beautiful bean footage knowledge

Anyways, time for kickoff. I have a bunch of feminized Purple Haze seeds. These 3 have been planted and I've started up 3 more in a bag with a banana peel to give them a ethylene boost (pics to come) and am awaiting those to finish germinating.

Just curious where you got your purple haze i just popped my own from NASC and was wondering
I took a different route and was curious to try a new company called ILGM, got the seeds just over a year ago using the banana peel method for the ethylene (it's crack for cannabis throughout it's lifespan, try it!) About to post an update. I had 100% germination rate but one died due to water rot and mold and it was gooey just after it sprouted.

The 3 bigger ones were sprouted a few days after the first 3 were sprouted and came up and they are bigger than the first 3 dude to the banana peel (ethylene) so the first 3 didn't have the ethylene from the start like the other 3 that are healthy and thriving well, the empty one in the tray did sprout and pop up but between bacteria, mold and water logging it died out unfortunately. The first 3 sprouted around the weekend on the 16th/17th and the newest 3 (bigger healthier plants of the 3) popped up Wednesday or Thursday, March 20 or 21st.
Temps in this photo are approximately 68. Watered yesterday morning. Night time temps are a little bit warmer as they stay in my room with me for warmth. A few of them have their roots already hitting the bottom of the tray. Will be transplanting them into bigger mediums within the next few days maybe a week. In my 16 years of growing, this is my longest hibernation of growing being 2/2.5 years since I've grown Cannabis.
Stay tuned and let's see what happens!!! *Drum Roll*

What is the "banana prel method"

Switched from 24/0 to 18/6 about 5 days ago to help with growth and root structure. I believe the little bit of dark helps them with certain processes during veg growth such as root structure as I've read in some researching.
Just took this pic a few moments ago. Watered 2 days ago. They will need some wind stress like yesterday to help them build they're stem system stronger, just haven't gotten around to it because the days aren't quite warm enough and I'm busy on top of that. They are starting to get a bit like green and yellowing & browning a bit on the edges of that first set of leaves on that tiny one, it's showing or mixing signs of pH lockout or over fertilizing BUT I have not fertilized at all yet, only watering with plain water and nothing else, and this only just started appearing, which, over fertilization would have appeared at the beginning of the grow had I used soil too hot which, like I've already stated that only been watered with plain H2O. My gut says it couldn't be a deficiency this early in it's life but maybe I'm wrong. Will have to get testing supplies and equipment on payday for further analysis.
It has been in the sunlight through the window indoors, days have been fairly good with sunshine except the last 3 days and they did catch "sun bleaching" last week which cleared up in 2 days.
Repotting into next size stage as well on payday and will be applying blood meal, bone meal, kelp, and many other beneficial additives.

Banana peels release ethylene, do some research on it.
i don't think the small amount of ethylene produced by the peel will do much, ethylene helps the plant ripen if i remember correctly.
get them repotted and seperated fast, or one end will all be female and the other end males, unless there female seeds

They need a bit more light, they’re stretchy. That and perhaps a bit of overwatering could account for the light leaves and browning edges. Let them dry back well before watering, you don’t say what the seedling mix is, it may or may not have nutes in it. I’d start with maybe 25% of recommended. When you go to repot them bury the stems almost to the cotyledons.

Just a tiny bit of each one except two of them because what I added looked like enough, didn't want to overdo it and burn them. Just finished the transplant about 2 hours ago.
Took a pH test as well (results are in the pics below)
Looks like I have them at a pH of 6.5 to 6.8ish

Still recovering from low pH, ppm is corrected. Awaiting for dolomite lime to help with correction. PH has gone up a bit and they're looking better but still could look better. Upon transplanting from tray to the purplish pots, the additives were a bit too hot and low pH.

PH is looking great now! They're recovering pretty well quicker than I expected. They're really taking off now. They'll be getting fresh air today as the temps are 70-80ish today and partly to mostly cloudy with a nice breeze. Added the first dose of B-52 into water last night and fed them. Awaiting another pH meter as this current one I have is acting up and behaving strangely (All 5 readings)...
Accidentally super cropped the best one when the cover box fell over and landed onto it thanks to my MF'ing elbow bump... She's recovering great and looking strong practically overnight. pH is 6.8. As I said, the meter is giving drastic crazy inaccurate readings therefore I cannot report readings at this time but as soon as I receive this new pen from VIVOSUN.
