I had a really close call today. The house I am living in Is being put up for sale and we were contacted yesterday by the realtors, saying they needed to come out and take pictures of the house/property! I spent the better part of yesterday improving my camouflage and put on my best "not growing trees in the adjacent lot" face today when they came out. The lady walked within 15ft of my patch before I was able to Jedi mind trick her to walk in the opposite direction! Crisis averted. Here's a photo from the opposing hillside

Gooooooood morning!!!!
I've been trying to get some good photos showing the forming buds but couldn't snap one that I was satisfied with; until last night. I took some pictures and the flash made all the buds really stand out.
This morning when I went out to water before the sun starts beating down on these ladies and found another rattlesnake. This sonofabitch was right next to one of my pots in the back; I didn't even notice until I was about 4 plants in. 5more weeks, 5more weeks, 5more weeks!!!!

As a hiker going thru state and national parks, I have to let a lot of snakes go about their business. It was weird to start with. Now I don't even think of killing them on the trail. You just go around it, like you would a blowdown tree. Just another thing to look out for.
The wife does make me kill them in the yard.

I was told once rattlesnakes dont use there rattlers much anymore because of humans they use to rattle it to warn things your to close except humans dont take warnings we see it as an invitation to kill them now they dont warn us they just strike and bail or they lay there silent an try to wait it out

I have heard of that, but only came across a couple three who didn't rattle when you got too close. I think they were all sleeping. I stepped on a canebrake rattler in a melon patch, and it didn't bite me. They don't want to use that much poison for something they are not going to eat. But most folks do kill the shit out of them. They eat rabbits, rats and mice, all things that have cost me lots of money, so I ain't going to harm them. {unless the wife makes me}

It was sleeping when I first saw it. I kind of made a "oooh shiiiit" noise and woke it up and it started shaking his rattle. His rattle was very small, looked like it was broken
I considered trapping it and letting it go off property but I don't have the means. I couldn't leave it be because my pit only has one entrance and i knew either me or my wife would see it again. I saw no other option...

Every rattle snake I've come across uses their rattler, excessively.

Yeah for all i know it could be a myth just something ive heard in the yard near the pets i agree little guys got to go. Do you eat em? Ive heard of eating snake to but never have i saw you made a wallet yes? Very cool
