It's usually 50's and 60's around December with chances of rain.
60's would be a NICE day. Usually highs in the 50's (60's would be awesome) with lows in the 30's - 40's. Can dip into the high 20's if a cold front is pushing through, but no colder.
You camping or hotel?

Camping is hit or miss at the winter BBQ, some might stay the night, most don't though. Your closest affordable hotels will be in Roseville/Rocklin or Wheatland. I stay in the Rocklin/Roseville area. There are people who rent a RV trailer, have it dropped off at the camp site (BBQ's @ site 19 1/2 I do believe) and stay there all weekend. There are options.

I believe Sacramento Craigs list is were found them. Fairley cheap too if I recall correctly (off season). Throw out a feeler here and see if you can share the camper fees with somebody. Many travel from afar to this BBQ and someone may be in the same boat as you. Most of those campers can sleep 6-8 people. I think they rented an external generator for an extra $20-$30 too.
